Police in Seattle declared a riot in that city after peaceful protesters on Saturday were “provoked” by cops into setting fires and throwing explosives, rocks, and bottles that injured 21 officers and sent one policeman to the hospital who was hit in the knee by an explosive device.
A construction site on Capitol Hill was torched and another police precinct was broken into with “explosive damage” done to the walls. Another Starbucks was lit up, and numerous storefronts were vandalized. At least 45 people were arrested. In other words, just another typical, peaceful, tranquil day for the residents of Seattle.
Are there any businesses left in downtown Seattle? If there are, they may want to head for the hills.

The Seattle police chief informs business owners that they are on their own against rioters. The city council has tied her hands. The police do not have the tools to combat mob violence.

The TRO was granted, so law enforcement is able to continue using less-than-lethal crowd control measures...for now. In other overnight Seattle news, following another night of rioting, law enforcement asked the newspaper of record, The Seattle Times, to turn over evidence of arson and gun theft. The Seattle Times refused, its editor stating: “We don’t work in concert with government...” This is the same Seattle Times that took $10M from the federal Paycheck Protection Program. Never think cops are ‘on your side’ in any situation. They’ll look out for #1 first, then their boss 2nd no matter what the conditions. You are WAY down the list.

Nope. The same cops whining about this crap will come down on you like a ton of bricks if you actually do anything effective to protect yourself or your property.
Intel, the largest metro-area employer, isn’t even located in Portland proper and is unaffected by lapses in Portland police coverage. The other big employers are university and private medical and teaching facilities and they aren’t leaving.
