i live about 2 miles from Cuomo- its not his house- it belongs to his ex-girlfriend Sandra Lee.
Its been up for sale (may have been sold) and once again Cuomo was outed for the tax cheat he is.
About four years ago they did some $40,000 of renovation to the kitchen and when the town inspector showed up to look at the renovations, they would not let him in the house. (You can look it up).
Just last year the house was on the market for $2 million, but cuomo and his girlfriend were only paying taxes on an appraised value of $1.3 million, basically paying 40% less school/property tax than he should’ve.
Aren’t market value and assessed value two different things?
I know the market value of my home is much more than the assessed value which is what my taxes are levied on.
I don’t know anybody who lets a Lister in their house. That’s the height of stupidity if you have anything above ‘construction grade’ inside. Not defending little Andy, but nobody is required to let them inside.
No fan of Cuomo, but most states have limitations on how often homes can be appraised. What the tax base is has no real relation to home value or sales price.
