Turkeys contribution to the F-35 fighter jets supply chain was suspended following its receipt of parts of the S-400 surface-to-air defense system last July.
But the system has not yet been made operational, although Turkey has also refused to give up the S-400 completely. It even tested its radar system in Ankara against some of its air forces US-made F-16 fighter jets last November.
However, the activation of the S-400 missile system that was scheduled for April is still delayed. Turkey has also been banned by the US from ordering F-35s for its air force.
The only condition for Ankara to become a contributor again and feature in the F-35 list is to move the system outside the country because F-35s cannot coexist with a Russian intelligence gathering platform that might detect their stealth capabilities and harm the long-term security of the alliance by spying on the jets.
Turkeys industrial engagement in the F-35 program brought a significant economic boost to the country, with 10 contributing companies supplying more than 900 parts worth about $12 billion.

Why is Turkey a member of NATO? It should be clear the government does not support western values.
Wait. I thought you’d WANT people you don’t like to blow their cash on F35s.
The pseudo-one-hand-loving-self Erdogan pouts.
Po’ baby!
Good. Theyre clearly no longer ally.
Dont fall for the F-35 is a failed program crap. It is an extremely capable strike fighter, and getting more so as software updates are rolled out.
What it isnt, and was never meant to be, is an air superiority fighter like the F-22.
Great news! Thanks for posting.

HOORAY Chief. When have we WITNESSED such compassion in ANY politician?
The military/industrial/media/medical complex is very tough to overcome.
Erdogan aside, it was lunacy to begin with to have a “global” supply chain for the F-35.
According to this military website, it lost dogfights.
Turkeys were never meant to soar with eagles.
In WW2 Turkey was a staunch ally as well as being a secular country which is rare in the Mideast. They were admitted to NATO and were a good member until recently when Erdogan took over and began to build his caliphate. Unless things change soon we will have to kick Turkey out of NATO.
Agree...I believe we have some strategic assets planted there.
2. Look at the date of the article you posted. That was written when the F-35 flight control software was still being developed, and the F-35 was limited to 3G turns. Today it can pull sustained 9G turns, limited only by what the pilot can sustain.

LOL! It says the F35 is designed for BVR and that is why it lost to a WW I (yes, I) Red Baron Fokker.
Sounds like the F16 continues to be the best MRF (no surprise).
Based on that article, the F35 could be replaced by a drone.
“Lockheed officials have separately downplayed reports that the same F-35, flown by the same pilot, previously lost mock dogfights with the Goodyear Blimp and a beagle on a flying doghouse.
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III declined comment through a spokesman, saying only, Curse you, Red Baron!
Turks are never to be trusted. Genocidal maniacs.
Servants of a violent false prophet.
Remember the Armenian genocide.
Remember the million Greeks of Asia Minor.
The Turks are a murdering Midnight Express Culture.
See the movie. Its not a propaganda film.
The Turks will kill you.
> In WW2 Turkey was a staunch ally
They didn’t declare war on Germany until well into 1945. The war’s result was a done deal by then.
Read a history book.
“soar with eagles”
Bump
turkey declaration of war on germany
Even Wikipedia knows this:
During World War II, Turkey maintained diplomatic relations with Germany until August 1944. The GermanTurkish Treaty of Friendship was signed on 18 June 1941. ... Turkey severed its diplomatic and commercial relations with Germany, and on February 23, 1945, declared war on Germany....
