Protesters Chain Doors Of Police Station, Locking Officers Inside For 7 Hours

Aurora police officers were trapped inside the District 1 station house for hours July 3 night after protesters chained the doors shut and plotted to storm the building.

The incident occurred when protesters demonstrating at a memorial for 23-year-old Elijah McClain marched to the Aurora Police Department’s District 1 station house near Montview and Wheeling just after 8 p.m. on July 3, KDVR reported.

Protesters chained the doors of the police station shut from the outside, trapping officers inside.

Aurora police have refused to comment on how many officers were locked inside the building for approximately seven hours, KDVR reported.

“The unfortunate part is they trapped our officers inside, not just them being around the building, but physically wrapping ropes and other items around the doors of the district one station, around the entry exit gates our patrol cars come out of… that was probably the most dangerous part,” Aurora Police Department Spokesman Officer Matthew Longshore said.

Angry protesters barricaded the streets and vandalized the exterior of the police station, KDVR reported.

Police didn’t move in to clear out the protesters locking their fellow officers in the station until about 3:30 a.m. on July 4 when rioters began shooting fireworks at officers in the area.

There were full cans of gasoline discovered around the area. So intent was clearly evident.

The amount of craven belly crawling being required of the police department is clearly evident from the official statements contained in the article.

And here I was under the impression that kidnapping only required that you be unlawfully detained and/or prevented from leaving when you wanted to. But, in Aurora, CO, you can be locked inside the police station for 7 hours and it’s a “peaceful assembly to protest” because the officers felt they were safe inside.

This will continue until the protestors are checked and checked hard.

Sadly, if that is the case- then violent LEFTIST mobs (had to stress that because ONLY leftist mobs are above law) are now above the law- because law officials are too afraid to uphold the law against them-

This is anarchy- The left are coddling and protecting anarchists-

That police department is gonna have to work for years to undo the impression of weakness conveyed to the criminal element by this episode.

I am almost 70 years old. Growing up I always ASSUMED cops could and would shoot me, if I broke the law, even just speeding, if I tried to out run them in a car or on foot. I ASSUMED they would shoot to stop me, and if that didn't work they would shoot to kill. This sure kept me out of trouble for nearly 70 years. Now I guess the sky is the limit for criminals! Remember that vagrant who shot and killed that young woman KATE STEINLE in S.F. He got away with it. TOO MUCH LAWLESSNESS !!!!!!!!!!!

ALL of the exits were blocked?? Does not speak well of the police. If the chain of command failed to take action for hours then it is time to close all of the precincts and let the libs take care of themselves.

Be nice and identify the location more precisely...guessed it was Aurora Colorado...but one never knows do one. ;>)

In any case, a Fort Apache event needs to be met with flying squads, knocking heads with teeth, hair and blood painting the street along with sharp shooter overwatch. Seal the perimeter and work through and over the mob to relieve the siege...and then march back for more of the same. This is flat out insurrection and needs to be responded quickly and decisively.
