Patrick Mahomes has signed a 10-year deal, per report. It’s the richest in NFL history.

$400,000,000? His agent hit a homerun.

Who cares.....Anyone who supports the NFL with their viewership is a traitor to this nation.

Well I meant the current Kansas City team. You know one of those imaginary contests :-)
does she put all of the information into a computer and see who would win :-)
And it would be worthless LOL

dp0622 and DoodleDawg,
Thank you for your cogent replies to my questions. I was actually being sarcastic because it seems that the ability to play football doesn’t seem to be a factor in the game. And why I’ve stopped watching it.

It’ll never be paid. the NFL stands for “Not For Long” — the whole shootin match is about to collapse as they offend their former fan base to the max.

Those playoff comebacks were each remarkable in their own way, but collectively, simply a great performance by a team led by someone exceptional. I doubt many players could have rallied their teams the way Mahomes did.
To: Cowboy Bob
LOL, exactly what I was thinking. But Mahomes is a good guy.

Hes not going to last 10 years, so more power to him to get as much as he can.
I believe that he will. He is not a "running quarterback" like a Michael Vick or a Cam Newton. It is in his bag of tricks, and no one expects him to do the kinds of runs at 34 he can do at 24, but his arm and his field presence and vision are beyond exceptional. He has only played three years, but plays like an experienced veteran, and that will only get better. Closer to Fran Tarkenton or Joe Montana (with a cannon arm) than Michael Vick or Cam Newton.
Smart contract for all sides.

Based on his first two seasons, he’s well worth it.
To: SuperLuminal
Real fans would have preferred to see an annual performance-based deal negotiated after each season
Then he could simply sign with the Broncos and eat KC's lunch for the next 10 years. This is an artificial market with 32 bidders. He would find a taker, and a taker with a winning organization and good coaching if he wants that.

Jerry Rice among others, Mostly Rice is who made Montana great.
I am a Rams fan who suffered through many years of being beaten by Joe Montana. Rice is the GOAT, but Joe Montana was as good as anybody I have seen at finesse (as opposed to sheer physical toughness) in the pocket to avoid the pass rush and make the play. Jerry Rice could not do that for him. Rice was great because he was ALWAYS open, even when double teamed, and never dropped anything.

The rule changes, intended to protect the quarterback, have ruined the position, and dare I say, the game.
Now days the QB is essentially a throwing running back, who can dip his rear shoulder and all defensive players have to pull up at the last second. Only to have the (fill in name of “dynamic” QB here) tuck the ball and keep running. And the announcers, and half the fans are like, wow that guy is great......it is utter garbage.
I believe we need one rule change. When a QB crosses the line of scrimmage he is a runner, and gets no extra privileges.

As a Dallas Cowboy fan it pains me to say it but Dak is not in Mahomes league talent wise. I watched him play at Texas Tech while my son was matriculating there. There is no comparison other than to say that Dak has good potential but at this time, Dak is a very good second-tier QB. Dak deserves a small raise but nothing like Mahomes got.

Football was different when we were younger. I saw some replays of some college bowl games in the early ‘80s, and what happened between plays is completely different than now.
It was amazing how more mature the players were then.

Itll be interesting to see how much of this is guaranteed. But good for him. Hell be the envy of the league at his position. Dak Prescott wanted similar money.
********
Mahomes has the creds. Dak has zero creds. Jones though Romo would get him to the promised land and gave him a big multi year contract. Sadly, Tony was all hat and no cattle. I doubt that Jones will make the same mistake twice. Maybe if Dak takes the Cowboys deep into the playoffs this year he will get his dream contract. If not, then doubt if Jones will pony up a bunch of money.
