We are *told* the recordings exist, but unlike most other PDs, Minneapolis hasnt released them in a timely fashion. They even had riots and havent released them to quell future ones. That tells me it is increasingly likely that either there is something really bad recorded there or the recordings may no longer exist.
Minneapolis has a huge veracity problem.
Minneapolis has a huge veracity problem.
Yes, Minneapolis has a huge problem with the truth.
From what I hear, the problem for the Minneapolis administration is exactly the opposite of what you think.
The body camera recordings undercut the narrative that the police murdered a Black man in cold blood.
The police and the Mayor bought into that narrative early and hard. Can't show them to be partisan idiots, can we? Can't go directly against the revolutionary narrative, can we?
The Mayor and police chief were perfectly willing to burn down parts of their city for the Lefty narrative.
It is easy to understand they would withhold exculpatory evidence for the same reason.
Reference the Justine Damond case. The Minneapolis government has a problem with veracity in general. Witness their continued defense of the indefensible in Officer Noor’s shooting of an unarmed woman *with the weapon a couple inches from his partner’s face*.
What’s interesting is that none of the officers’ attorneys have petitioned to get the video recordings released ahead of the trial, something that has been done to good effect in other cases where the officers were, in fact, innocent.
I would also point out the Atatiana Johnson case. The Fort Worth police officer was *absolutely* at fault on that one yet FWPD released the body cam video pretty much immediately upon realizing there was a problem. We have also had incidents where officers were accused of misbehavior in FW and were innocent - those recordings were also released immediately. In neither case were there riots.
Officer Chavin is a destested White man. The most easily sacrificed.
Different administrations, different reactions.
Both cases tell me that the Minneapolis government has a big problem with truth and veracity, as I’ve been saying.
The left does not believe in objective truth.
