Young people are throwing coronavirus parties with a payout when one gets infected, official says
CNN ^ | 2/7/20 | By Faith Karimi and Jamiel Lynch

Some young people in Alabama are throwing Covid-19 parties, a disturbing competition where people who have coronavirus attend and the first person to get infected receives a payout, local officials said.

The parties are being held in Tuscaloosa, and infected people are urged to attend so others can intentionally contract the virus, City Council member Sonya McKinstry told CNN. She said she heard about the trend from fire officials.

"We thought that was kind of a rumors at first. We did some research, not only do the doctors' offices confirm it, but the state confirmed they also had the same information," she said. During a presentation to the City Council this week, Fire Chief Randy Smith also said young people in the city are throwing parties with a payout if they catch coronavirus, McKinstry said.

The first person confirmed by a doctor to have coronavirus after the exposure wins the money made off the ticket sales, she said. Over the past few weeks, there have been several parties in the city and surrounding areas, and probably more that officials don't know about, she added. "It makes me furious," McKinstry said. "Furious to the fact that something that is so serious and deadly is being taken for granted. ...you could contract the virus and take it home to your parents or grandparents."

My take is that old folks have self quarantined pretty much already.

That is what our county stats suggest. The above 60 age group accounts for only about 10% of cases.

'Like they ever visit or call anyway.'

LOL Well, we have one who's 13 going on three and thirty at the same time. With all this lockdown crap, school not being on the horizon, and his having to be the only boy in a gaggle of females, he wants to come here weekly and spend time with Nana and Paw Paw. He has his own bedroom here, and given we're here with the cats, when he spends a night or two here when it's cold and/or rainy, it feels like a home. He's not old enough to understand these idiots throwing parties, but he's old enough to understand they're idiots. His idea of a party is Paw Paw bringing home a hot pizza for dinner that he doesn't have to share with his sister or cousins, and he doesn't have to hear them screech. LOL!

OMG, the stupidity!

Covid-19 is more deadly than influenza at every age except for those age 19 and below.

In Maryland, about 1 in 583 people between ages 20 and 29 die from Covid-19 (last calculated Jun 29). (I expect the numbers to be similar elsewhere.) That is a high enough death rate that everyone in that age group is going to know a friend or a friend of a friend who dies from Covid-19. Of course, for every person who dies, several others end up in the hospital fighting for their lives; maybe after a few attendees of these parties spend quality time in the ICU, the parties will suddenly not be so popular. Not to mention the fact that every person who gets Covid-19 is a source of infection for anyone who might be around them. No, you cannot isolate (i.e. imprison) older people so that millennials can continue to indulge in their entitled lifestyles.

Also, what a way to make sure that lock downs and quarantines never end.

Did the ones with so-called “infections” have any symptoms?

But it’s ok for governors to place sick people into nursing homes “to recover”, right? More likely placed there to clear out the old folks who might be sucking up taxpayer funds. But you know all and see all......🙄

Ok so let’s isolate everyone and force decrying into lock down. You are a never ending source of bad information. The only Joy is it took you three hours to write thst completely incorrect synopsis.

Go do some research doc. And stop stating the CFR. The CDC even just said there are likely a minimum of 10x more cases out there than tested ir reported. Sorry you see just wrong. But you and Kozak are the only experts on anything.

I am glad you have not the levers of power. Your tyranny and fear continue to be on full display.

And please spare me the ongoing no research bit. You can go look up the CDC statements. You are truly chicken little.

“I’m old and do not feel susceptible. My wife however is a different matter. The same is true of the many old folks I know. They are sticking pretty much close to home in a location pretty much open for business as usual.”

Exactly the same here except my wife is also healthy. Neither one of us have has as much as a cold in close to 15 yrs (fingers crossed). I do not/wear a mask unless required (hair cut).

I’m in SC and people here were more angry than concerned by the fear porn being spread around.

So the solution is obvious: Keep the old people safely away from the young, who might be carriers, even if they’re asymptomatic. And let everyone else go about their business. But nooooooo!

Fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me twice...

Let’s hear it for the young-uns. They know a naked emperor when they see one.

Without knowing all of the details, some general odds can still be roughly concluded. Your odds of dying in a car crash, over the span of your entire life, are somewhere in between 1 and 50 and 1 and 100.

You cannot compare the odds of a lifetime event to the odds of dying from contracting a specific disease. You drive or ride in a car thousands of times during your life, but you do not catch thousands of infectious diseases. Your chance of dying in a car crash today are negligible; according to the National Safety Council, "In 2018, the death rate was 1.42 per 10,000 vehicles", or "1.22 deaths per 100 million miles driven." But if you are between age 40 and 49, your chance of dying if you catch Covid-19 is 1 in 125. Right now, 1 in 180 people in the US have Covid-19, so there is a real chance of catching it. And there is no guarantee of never catching Covid-19 again once you have recovered; if it is like other coronaviruses, immunity to it wanes over time so that you can catch it again. We have no data now on what will happen in a subsequent infection.

EXPLOSIVE – About All These “New” Positive COVID Cases – State Health Departments Manipulating Data, Changing Definitions..
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/07/02/explosive-about-all-these-new-positive-covid-cases-state-health-departments-manipulating-data-changing-definitions/

This is very interesting. The document described in the video below is available HERE (see below). Research into state health regulations by Fog City Midge shows that new guidance for the definition of COVID-19 positive infections is likely the biggest background cause in a dramatic upswing in positive test results.

This revelation would explain exactly why those who construct the reporting systems are pushing so hard for contact tracing. According to the new guidance anyone who comes into contact with a person who tests positive is now also considered positive.

Nice convenient way to inflate the infection rate. The verified source is Here

“In Maryland, about 1 in 583 people between ages 20 and 29 die from Covid-19 (last calculated Jun 29). (I expect the numbers to be similar elsewhere.) “

This is supposed to impress someone? Let me guess. The hot spot was Baltimore and the DC Metro area.

“No, you cannot isolate (i.e. imprison) older people so that millennials can continue to indulge in their entitled lifestyles.”

You mean, go to work or school?

“Also, what a way to make sure that lock downs and quarantines never end.”

By not having them, except for the most vulnerable? When herd immunity is established, the elderly can come out of isolation, too.

That 0.1% CFR for youngsters is comparable to polio, Hepatitis A without a vaccine, and malaria.

That is a higher CFR than chicken pox (0.001%) where parents would hold parties with an infected child to intentionally get the disease.

Avoiding the vaccine that comes with RFID chip?
From Apiject website: Before giving an injection, the healthcare worker will be able to launch a free mobile app and “tap” the NFC tag on the prefilled syringe’s label to their phone. The app will capture the tag’s unique dose-level serial number, GPS location and date/time, then upload the data to a government database. Aggregated injection data provides health administrators an evolving real-time “injection map.”

Old people make up the overwhelming numbers of virus related deaths. Frailty is the death factor.

I agree and would add poor health to the mix as well. Younger people who don't stay in shape and/or have bad health habits are also more at risk, just like with any other disease or virus.

I'm in my upper 50s, maintain excellent health and fitness, and worked in NYC daily right up until March 13, riding commuter trains and even the subways. I have not yet been tested for the Chinese Virus but I am certain that when I am eventually tested, the test will show that I have had it. In fact, there was a week during January where I had a pretty bad case of the flu. I rarely get the flu and this was a particularly bad case of it. But I shook it off and thought nothing more of it at the time. Now I'm pretty sure it was that "Chinese Virus".

I finally went back to Manhattan last week and the city was still "Sunday morning" quiet. Was sad to see. All those restaurants still closed that may never open again. Retail stores along 5th Avenue were opening up but looked to be sparse crowds. All this economic devastation over nothing. The old and vulnerable folks should have been the only ones staying home.

This new rise in covid cases is NOT a natural viral transmission rate especially how it went up in different places dramatically at the same time in places hundreds of miles apart. If it walks like a duck....
