Fauci: We're not going in the right direction
Arutz Sheva ^ | 3/7/20

The US top infectious disease expert said on Thursday he is growing increasingly concerned with the number of coronavirus infections in the United States as cases grow at an unprecedented rate even after months of lockdowns, The Hill reports.

Speaking a day after the country confirmed more than 50,000 new cases of coronavirus in a single 24-hour period, Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said younger people are now accounting for a much greater share of the pandemic.

"I think it's pretty obvious, Howard, that we are not going in the right direction," Fauci was quoted as having said in an interview with Howard Bauchner, editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

"We need to realize that if we do not adhere to the guidelines as we're trying to open, and I don't mean officially, I mean the citizenry, the people that are out there, we're going to be in some serious difficulty," he added.

Fauci pointed to Arizona, California, Florida and Texas, four states that have accounted for about half the new cases in the country this year. Hospital systems in Arizona and Texas are beginning to report they are running out of bed space for patients, while hospitalizations are rising in other parts of the country.

Those mass outbreaks, he warned, threaten to overwhelm even areas that have the virus under control.

After weeks of riots and mayhem, young people are getting infected? Gosharooti! Send the hospital ships down South to Texas and as close to Arizona as feasible, since Newsome, Cuomo and Deblabio aren't using them.

“Hospital systems in Arizona and Texas are beginning to report they are running out of bed space for patients,”

Don’t believe that.

This guy is just a flat-out jerk. He has reversed himself a dozen times. He may be some kind of expert, but he is reading media reports of cases, not deaths, and becoming every bit as alarmed as just an ordinary person that was whipped back and forth by media reports. Cases are expanding, because testing is expanding. We will never be rid of this virus until we achieve the so-called herd immunity and that is going to take a lot of people catching the virus, over 99.5% of which are asymptomatic.

I think we should suspend the elections. Keep the current government in place until the country is rid of the Coronavirus. That’s the only way to be safe!

We should’ve NEVER closed. The way the immunity system works is you need to get a low does of the virus. What you’re suggesting is a quarantine that time was passed in November last year

It was never really truly closed, just an inconvenience government-wise. Most of it was voluntary by business. BTW, did you go to PESH? Your nick reminds me of someone I went to speech class with in high school.

Speaking a day after the country confirmed more than 50,000 new cases of coronavirus in a single 24-hour period...

50,000 new cases in a nation of 331 million and he is wigging out!

And that's after the CDC changed the reporting criteria.
How to Report COVID-19 Laboratory Data June 25, 2020

Laboratories are required to report to state and local public health authorities in accordance with applicable state or local law. Additionally, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (CARES Act Section 18115pdf iconexternal icon) and its implementation guidance require every laboratory to report every test it performs to detect SARS-CoV-2 or to diagnose a possible case of COVID-19 (e.g., viral, serology). Tests must be reported to the appropriate state or local public health department, based on the individual’s residence.HHS Announces New Laboratory Data Reporting Guidance for COVID-19 Testing June 4, 2020 Public Law 116-136, § 18115(a), the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, requires “every laboratory that performs or analyzes a test that is intended to detect SARS-CoV-2 or to diagnose a possible case of COVID-19” to report the results from each such test to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Once again something is put into a bill that is passed into law and nobody recognized the fatal flaw.

The PCR tests they use are so sensitive they pick up traces of COVID-19 in people who were infected months ago.

Example - the George Floyd autopsy tested positive for COVID-19 eight weeks after Floyd had tested positive the first time.

The CDC only reports the raw number of COVID tests performed. It does not report the number of tests per individual, nor does it report the number of people who tested positive but had no symptoms.

That is completely contrary to the way the CDC tests and reports influenza cases. When the CDC reports x number of flu cases, only people who have clear symptoms are counted.

In addition, the CDC fatality count for COVID-19 is completely fraudulent when compared to influenza.

The CDC counts “Presumed” (untested) COVID deaths as “Confirmed” COVID deaths.

And, the CDC counts 100% of pneumonia + COVID fatalities as COVID-19 fatalities.

The CDC does not count presumed influenza as confirmed influenza.

And, the CDC counts less than 10% of pneumonia + influenza fatalities as influenza fatalities.

Sixty-five percent of the cases in San Diego are Latino/Hispanic. The biggest number of new cases in the 20-29 age group, who largely have mild or no symptoms and an extremely small chance of death. Hospitalization and death rates are holding steady or declining. The chance of dying of the virus in San Diego is 0.001% — that’s one thousandth of one percent. The most at-risk population for death remains older persons.

Delayed herd immunity is developing. We flattened the infection curve, but the area under the curve is basically unchanged. Only two ways to achieve herd immunity, large scale infection or a vaccine.

Re: “Whatever dude. It’s out of control in TX. Opened way too damn soon...”

You sure about that?

In 2018, Texas had 3,516 influenza fatalities.

Nobody said a word about that.

In 2020, Texas has 2,542 COVID-19 fatalities.

This is not a medical crisis.

It is a deceitfully invented political crisis.

Hey Leprechaun, please explain for us how your pronouncement squares with hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 being nearly flat?

So, there’s no way Trump can muzzle this a-hole? Can’t Trump bring out a real expert to discuss the true facts of this? Trump just won’t say crap while the nations Govs once again are putting ridiculous mask wearing requirements on their citizens in the summer heat!

Trump’s silence on this stupid bug is getting old!
