Some New Yorkers had the coronavirus in early February, new research shows

The coronavirus appears to have been circulating at low levels in the Big Apple since early February — about a month before the first case was confirmed in the city, new research reveals.

A study published this week, based on more than 5,000 plasma samples collected from patients at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital, revealed that some patients had antibodies for the contagion as early as the week ending on Feb. 23.

Considering the time necessary to produce antibodies, that likely means they were infected about two weeks earlier, Florian Krammer, an immunologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, who led the study, told the New York Times.

How do they know that when the test kits still haven’t even been proven 100% accurate?

Death rates went up because governors deliberately sent in infected patients into Nursing homes

This was orchestrated.

I think they are assuming the serology tests on blood products are fairly accurate.

Supposedly, plasma from people who have antibodies can be a cure.

Do you happen to know if Gentian Violet has been tested against SARS, etc..instead of just being used as a stain to observe.

I had never heard of it until I got something that may or may not be thrush. So I ordered some to give it a try.

I saw where it had been tested with Influenza

My neighborhood was flooded with relocating New Yorkers in early February so that adds up.

No surprises to me. It roared through my area in Central Texas, last part of January into March - old folks and those with chronic illness were getting hauled off in ambulances left and right. Friends & family in other parts of the state had something suspicious as far back as November. The "peak" came and went months ago, the threat now being politicians playing doctor with their idiotic and illegal diktats.

I know people who are quite sure they had it in January, thinking then that it was just another version of the flu. They just stayed home a week and went back to work.

Does anyone really believe that a virus from anywhere in the world isn’t arriving and spreading through New York City in a week after it first contacts a human being?

Am in South Carolina, working at an office of about 150 people that provides health care. A few weeks into the new year something hit our place during the course of which affected 50-70% of everyone who worked there. It wasn't the flu. I came down with it also and in retrospect the symptoms aligned right up with what is now known as COVID-19. The illness itself passed after a week or so. It wasn't until probably late April that my system was finally rid of the junk it left in its wake.

If it was COVID, nobody in our office died from it.

Seems to me I remember kidney or liver damage with that.

I want to know if straight up Lugols would do anything.

Ingested, of course.

The virus acquired a mutation sometime in feb/mar that allowed it to be transmitted much more efficiently.

So it was there, yes. But not spreading as much.

THought it was interesting that it killed influenza A.

And I believe myself and the wife were 2 of them. We are going for antibody tests next week. And if we had it, it was a moderate cold for 3 days with a lingering cough and had no effect on our ability to do anything productive.

https://www.amazon.com/Humco-Gentian-Violet/dp/B000QTG3ME/ref=psdc_3762651_t1_B004XJQR60#customerReviews

I will be doing it outside because I would be the one that spilled it in the bathroom

some people use it to color hair.
