President Trump said Monday that he will soon issue an executive order meant to protect public statues and monuments from being damaged or destroyed by far-left and anarchist protesters.
"We are going to do an executive order and make the cities guard their monuments," Trump told Eternal Word Television Network's Raymond Arroyo. "This is a disgrace."
Arroyo, who is also a Fox News contributor, played a clip of the interview on Monday's edition of "The Ingraham Angle."

Something has to be done, but will this matter? Isn’t it a state/city issue?
I don’t know how Trump has the authority to make a city guard statues in that city. Curious to see if this actually happens (I love Trump but sometimes he doesn’t follow through on things he says ... i.e. he was going to send troops to take back the cities if mayor’s wouldn’t but never did) and if it does what legal rationale he uses.
Yea he can’t do anything really. Unfortunately unless this becomes a national security issue.
What’s happening with ANTIFA and them being declaried a terrorist org?
I know POTUS is working against a beast call deep state/elites
Right after the Dem cities enforce immigration laws they will do this.
The Art of Simmering Chaos ... in action!
At some point the president is going to have to declare it as an attempted insurrection and do the job all the socialist democrat governors and mayors refuse to do. American citizens are not being protected and their civil rights are being violated and the primary function of government is to protect them to not to ruin the healthcare system, murder babies, and force people to violate the principles of their faith (primary those of Christians), and protect the very criminals who are perpetrating such heinous acts.
“...Curious to see if this actually happens...”
I think the time to ‘stand and deliver’ on putting down this atrocity upon the good American people is long overdue...
Right after the Dem cities enforce immigration laws they will do this.

exactly!!
and he might have to do it to get re-elected. many people are unhappy that these low lifes are allowed to run around and do this.
Yes state rights and all that but ALL OF THESE STATES allowing this criminality get MAGA federal funds for stuff.
They are taking OUR tax payer money and using it and allowing this to fester.
Just like Occupy Wallstreet was torn down by force eventually, it has to be done.
This does not seem like these are spontaneous outbursts of destruction. There is a pattern that seems planned. First the marches and riots and burning of police cars across the country. Then that quieted down, then suddenly these toppling of statues, from coast to coast. The Feds are the only ones who can deal with who are the people planning this, if we had an FBI that were controlled by patriots. Interstate and even perhaps international conspiracy.
THe hate of value of significant memory and immortality must end, free speech must be enacted as more sacred than the flesh and skin color.
. Interstate and even perhaps international conspiracy.
Exactly this can be stopped IF we had a patriotic FBI.
Great move! If the cities do not follow this order, all the more reason to federalize the guard and move in.
Go ahead punk, make Trump’s day!
I think if you really wanted to make an impression here...you’d force all public and private colleges to shut down for a period of one year, and suggest that if behavior doesn’t improve...a second year will be offered. The instigators of this whole thing....the college professors would have to wake up and smell the mess brewing on their doorstep.
At some point the president is going to have to articulate a positive vision for his reelection. It will not do to say simply that he is not Joe Biden. Elections are always referendums on the incumbent, essentially they are recall elections. The very worst thing Trump can do is to continue to overpromise and underperform. That is what we saw in this Oklahoma rally fiasco. That is what we saw in his predictions concerning his negotiations with North Korea. At some point, the president is going to have to offer up a compelling affirmative and compelling vision to extend his administration another 4 years.
I have written before about what I regard to be the "iconoclasm spasm" yet I believe that, although the desecration and destruction of these monuments is significant for their iconic importance, the voters want to know what the president is going to do about restoring order, defeating the virus, and, especially, putting the economy back on its feet. In short, persuadable voters want to know how the president is going to Save the Union.
When Abraham Lincoln saw that his cause was failing on virtually every military battlefield, he changed the game from the preservation of the union to the abolition of slavery. That short address delivered in the cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania meant that Lincoln's administration would "belong to the ages." That speech alone was not enough for him to win his next election, Sheridan's march through Georgia had to do that for him, but it held the nation together long enough for Sherman to get there. It held it together because the message was transcendent, because it tied together the Declaration of Independence with our Constitution and finally solved America's original sin.
The historical lesson, the president's words, crafted for the ages, were matched with action in the moment.
We are not in a shooting Civil War although we might be on the verge of one, indeed we might well be on the cusp of a leftist tyranny that undoes our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, and the Gettysburg address that gave historical coherence its precedents. The Gettysburg Address was not known for its length, quite the contrary, Donald Trump must find the few words that every patriot will pledge allegiance to because it exalts, not Donald Trump, but a transcendental cause.
The simple truth is that Black Lives Matter, in character if not in extent, is as destructive to personal liberty as was slavery. The president must find the words, not to exalt himself and especially not to divert us with his tie, but to call the country to a new battle hymn for liberty indissoluble from the rule of law because it is right and proper and because it is existentially imperative, just as the abolition of slavery was necessary for national survival. He must also make it clear that the not so incidental byproduct of such a crusade will be to restore the economy and jobs. He must wrap it all up in one ball: we will find a way to actually educate our kids, prevail against China, and make America great as we make America just and fair because we have equality of opportunity.
But he must make it a battle hymn and not a campaign rally slogan.

I was rather wondering the same thing myself. Never heard another word about it. What happened?
It sounds like hes talking out of his ass on this one. It would seem to me that monuments on Federal property are the only ones that come under Federal jurisdiction by any objective definition.
