Obama fired many high ranking military members. They were the good guys. He kept the political hacks to do his bidding. They sold their soul and may not even know it. One positive is they are retired. They may be hurting Trump and military morale by such rhetoric. But, at least they are not making anymore bad decisions costing them their lives.

They know it...even I at a much lower retired rank know it. They also know it won't be enforced on them. Let them talk...they're telling us what the active officers are saying secretly. The active officers are sending a message through the retired generals to Trump. They're warning him that his orders will be ignored if they don't like them. Their defense will be that they think the orders are illegal, even if they aren't.

They are aware that they could be. They are aware if this was obama or Hillary Clinton they would be. They also know since this is President Trump they won’t be. Those that are doing this probably have gotten assurances via back channel communications that no action will be taken against them. Their superiors are also enemies of President Trump.

I think they should be prosecuted. Flag officers demand respect under the UCMJ so the law should be followed.

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

It doesn’t mention while on active duty so I must assume that the law still applies after leaving active duty
