Yes, indeed, but why do I think that will never happen?

I think the Rats are going to ramp up Hussein Head military against Trump as his rallies resume.

Yeah, but these partisan hacks were not on active duty when they attacked the President...so hard to say how that fits in to the UCMJ....

I guess they’re terrified that Trump will end all the wars we’re currently involved in.

When they're found guilty, I suggest firing squads.

They probably think no one in the GOP would have the drive to actually do it, vs threatening to do it. Toothless threats from Lindsey, Gowdy, Barr.

The Dems would have already indicted and began the televised prosecutions of the more talkative Generals.

It’s high time that these Obama appointed and promoted Generals got a dose of reality.

“Without mature leadership?”

Look who’s talking! Ridiculous. Our President has been nothing if not mature during this entire crisis.

Impeachment, coronavirus, rioting and looting...it just doesn’t stop.

I’m surprised that he isn’t hiding in a corner somewhere.

High ranking military officers often lead very sheltered lives with little observation of conditions outside of their very narrow focus. Under Clinton, Obama and even Bush conservatives were purged while liberals were elevated beyond their personal capabilities.

Historically the worst type of political connivers rise to the top of the military during peacetime. In the event of a major war the average soldier suffers greatly until competent warriors take over. The Joint Chiefs of Staff has devolved into just another loathesome Federal bureaucracy. Conservative are legitimately patriotic but they have traditionally given far to much respect to Generals and Admirals. Perhaps its becoming apparent that these people are not worthy of all the adulation they have been given.

Yes, I remember that section of the UCMJ (am a Vet) which gets down to the question whether their commissions were terminated technically upon retirement or not. I don’t know...anyway, good point.

It is the law and the law should be followed and a precedent would be established.

This is not going to happen. You don’t surrender your 1st Amendment rights because of your prior position.

While this is on the books, it has always been more of a custom just like prior Presidents not criticizing current Presidents.

Customs and norms are out the window it seems, but nobody will be prosecuted for this. There have been “tell all books” and endless appearances on news shows. Jack Keane (someone I respect) has politely criticized the prior administration every week on television and nobody has called for him to be prosecuted.

If you are a beltway creature, even a retired 4 star, and you want a good gig in the beltway you have to tow the uniparty line. The sooner people acknowledge that 99% of the beltway denizens oppose Trump the sooner we can have a real conversation.

I wouldn’t support that. They are Americans and private citizens not on active duty. They have as much right to be a-holes as anyone else now.
