George Floyds Family Asks UN To Help Disarm Police In the United States June 9, 2020
On Memorial Day, George Floyd was killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A video of the incident, in which officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyds neck for 9 minutes before the suspect eventually perished, quickly went viral.
Since then, Floyds death and subsequent protests and riots which have broken out as a result have taken center stage in both national and international news.
Its hard to find a media outlet, legacy or otherwise, that isnt covering Floyds death, three memorial services, or loud and outlandish demands of activists who are now calling for police to be defunded.
Thats not all.
Floyds bereaved family has now reportedly written to the United Nations, requesting their assistance in disarming police departments in the US, according to NBC News:
The group sent a letter on June 3 to one of the international bodys working groups asking for support for the end of the provision of military equipment and military-type training for police, the teaching of deescalation techniques, independent prosecutions and autopsies for extrajudicial police killings, and more. When a group of people of any nation have been systemically deprived of their universal human right to life by its government for decades, it must appeal to the international community for its support and to the United Nations for its intervention, Floyds family attorney Ben Crump said in a press release.
It would be hard to find anyone in the US right now who believes that Floyds murder was in any way justified. He was not shot, nor was his death the result of military style weapons or training.
Chauvin was promptly fired and later charged, and for good reason. If youve spoken to anyone who has undergone the type of training that Chauvin went through, they will tell you he most certainly should not have kept his knee on the back of Floyds neck for anywhere near as long as he did.
He violated his oath to uphold the constitutional right to life, and he should be punished accordingly.
It is one thing to start conversations about how to avoid such incidents. It is something else entirely to advocate for defunding the police or call on the globalist U.N. to help weaken our police forces. With all due respect to the grieving family of George Floyd.
The U.N. issued a statement on May 28th, Breitbart notes, three days after Floyds death, including the names of other high-profile unarmed black individuals who have died during interactions with police.
U.N. Commissioner on Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, is quoted in the statement, which reads, in part:
This is the latest in a long line of killings of unarmed African Americans by U.S. police officers and members of the public, Bachelet said. I am dismayed to have to add George Floyds name to that of Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, Michael Brown and many other unarmed African Americans who have died over the years at the hands of the police as well as people such as Ahmaud Arbery and Trayvon Martin who were killed by armed members of the public. The US authorities must take serious action to stop such killings, and to ensure justice is done when they do occur. Procedures must change, prevention systems must be put in place, and above all police officers who resort to excessive use of force should be charged and convicted for the crimes committed. The role that entrenched and pervasive racial discrimination plays in such deaths must also be fully examined, properly recognized and dealt with, she added. While saying she understood the anger unleashed by Floyds killing, Bachelet urged people in Minneapolis and elsewhere to protest peacefully.
The NBC News report did not mention whether Floyds family has received a reply from the U.N.
How would that have helped George given that he wasn’t killed by a firearm?
“””””””” He killed the guy, intentionally or not.”””””
GUILTY until proven INNOCENT. Right?
What was the cause of death?
OK, you win. The cop did the right thing; we need more like him! (is the < /sarc > tag necessary?)
Just remember, there will be a rifle behind every tree, every blade of crass.
The UN couldn’t disarm Barney Fife.
So there is still no hard evidence that the knee to the neck is what directly or solely killed Mr. Floyd? For the media to keep printing a ‘white cop killed Floyd” has no merit. MAYBE the knee to the neck contributed to the death of Mr. Floyd but can any person on trail be convicted for a serious crime due to “maybes”. MAYBE Mr. Floyd would have died of cardiac or respiratory arrest even if no knee was on him.
I do not see in anyway this cop is going to get a fair trial.
We had a 100 pound woman who took six of us to get under control and all of us had breaks in our skin from scratches and bites. The only one uninjured was her.
When I first got hired we were trying to patch up a big black guy who had been in an altercation. His bicep was as big as my thigh. I was concentrating on cleaning him up when he took a swing and knocked the helmet off my head. Fortunately, the chin strap came loose because the helmet went flying. My crew came down on him hard but we couldn't get him back under control until one of the police clocked him good.
I didn’t say any such thing. A trial will sort that out.
My personal speculation is that the meth, fentanyl intoxication and cardiac arrest weren’t too good for Saint George’ health.
So far we have heard from the prosecution only. It is hard to decide when only one side of the story has been told.
What did Saint George die of?
I believe it takes weeks to get a final toxicology report completed. Are you somehow able to know what the tox report says?
This is the latest in a long line of killings of unarmed African Americans by U.S. police officers and members of the public, Bachelet said.

The line is not nearly as long as the number of unarmed blacks killed by other blacks.
George Floyds Family Asks UN To Help Disarm Police In the United StatesWas George Floyd shot or held at gun point?
Were guns drawn?
If police were unarmed at the time of his arrest, would he still be alive?
(From my post #20) The need for a trial is to determine if it was murder, manslaughter, accidental or justifiable.
I forgot to include contributory factors, like those you mention.
Only BLM amd Antifa patrols will be armed and will have the latest arms including air, sea, and mechanized. All hail Obama!
You know how old a classic car could be with an original bumper sticker "UN Out of the US/US Out of the UN" would be?
Great sentiment that we should make happen.
Dem & GOP Prez's come and go and that ugly Commie organization still gets its money from us.
The Dem plan is Senate MAJORITY leader Chuckie Schumer will consult with the Dem President in 2021 about how to involve the UN in all aspects of American life coordinated by Dem power group. New SCOTUS nominees quickly approved and seated will accede to this.
God forbid.

You are starting with the premise that the cop killed Saint Floyd and not the fentanyl overdose, the meth, the cardiac arrest or whatever else they find in his system. .
My speculation is that the cop might have contributed some but the main cause of death is Saint Floyd fighting and resisting arrest while overdosing on drugs.
They never show the videos of Saint Floyd fighting all the cops when they were trying to put him in the cop car.
I 2nd that thought...
Yes, because the facts don't fit the lefts narrative...
They must greatly hate the UN for wanting them to get killed like that.
