I think it's time for an experiment.

Let's layoff all police and give them unemployment + $600 a week until the end of July and see how soon the libs cry uncle.

What do you think?

That line about gay marriage is wrong. It was instant.

The days before the court ruling they had stories that millions in various states went through difficult petition drives to get official ballot presence and successful state votes in elections for the legal status only for “one man one woman as the definition of marriage in this state.”

Then the one vote margin SCOTUS gay vote: “Celebrations” “Gay colors on side of buildings including White House.” “George Takei to marry a man” and all the rest, as if EVERYONE wanted gay marriage suddenly allowed. Like the NYC and LA in crowds did.

I don’t think they want to abolish police. They want their own style of police.

Call for papers:

How is Federal level confiscation to be carried out?

Manpower, logistics, mission statement, concept of operations, command & control, Constitutional bases, states’ rights, the whole bit.

“Red Flag laws” is not an answer. Neither is “Mr. & Mrs. America, turn ‘em all in!!”.

Cites, sites, and references are welcome.

If you get rid of the cops who will take the guns? Not the Military, they are loyal to the Constitution. Bring in the UN and it will be easier for “We The People” to shoot the blue helmets where we would hesitate to shoot a cop.

99% of the reason I’m not likely to use my guns to protect my rights is that I’m afraid it would lead to losing my right to own my guns.

If it ever comes to be that I have lost my right to own my guns, then I will have no reason against my using them, and use them I will.

I think they will use BLM/racial justice to make cop body cameras ubiquitous and mandatory. The feed/footage won’t be controlled by the LEO agencies, but by a remote 3rd party using facial recognition and AI. This will eventually make discretionary citations and arrests by LEOs non-optional, they must enforce the law like it is on the books in any interaction or be disciplined or fired.

Then they pass all the bad laws that would be normally be ignored as far as possible by good LEOs. Gun confiscation, limits on public gatherings, whatever.

Let’s see how does that work, retire the cops and confiscate our guns. Are they going to do the confiscating on their lonesome. That will be interesting.

Make no mistake about it. The Left's ultimate aim is the elimination of the family, religion, and private property. If they gain power, patriots will be arrested and sent to re-education camps, their children taken away, and their property seized. I know this like I know my glorious naked body, as Rush would put it. There is no compromising with these people. They mean to make slaves of us.

The Second Amendment protects families and homes.

Those who oppose it want to make families and homes vulnerable to attack.

It is the line that must hold.

So, if I dressed like an Antifa member and attended a rally with my AR and AK, stood in the back of the Antifa crowd, and my trigger finger got itchy and took out a whole lot of them, would the Dems applaud my effort at social distancing?

When will the msm ask Slow Joe if he is in favor of defunding police departments across the USA?

Let's look at the twin issues of defunding police and firearms confiscation.

First defunding police. It sounds good in some circles and it plays well to liberals who want the money to go to schools and social programs. However, when crime starts to skyrocket, two things will happen. First people will start to want law and order and second vigilante groups will form. There is absolutely nothing that scares politicians more than armed vigilante groups. When that happens they will demand proper police protection. Unfortunately, one people leave the police force it will take a long time to get trained officers back.

Early adopters of defunding police are going to be poster children for the rest of the country in “what not to do.”

Now as to firearm confiscation. Please remember that there are more privately owned firearms in the USA than there are people. They are not uniformly distributed, but the quantities are beyond the capability of most logistical collection methods, especially if people don't want to give them up.

That is why gun control groups in their proposed laws talk about banning and confiscating just certain classes of firearms, not all firearms. That is why some anti-firearm states like California have elaborate rules on the types of new firearms that can be sold in their state (magazines of 10 rounds or less, no “assault style looking” rifles, no firearms that are not safety tested by a state agency, etc.).

Firearm confiscation requires either voluntary compliance or a significantly high buy back dollar amount. With so many firearms neither is likely to work.
