You’re probably right.Given what’s going on now a prosecutor would be a fool to say “no charges will be filed” even if in his/her professional opinion that would have been the correct ruling.Doing so might have even placed him and/or his family in danger of harm.
The locals cheering the fires
of course he didnt die from that! you can’t choke someone out from pressing on the SIDE of their neck.
My guess is that this occurring, because we do not know the full details of what happened here, and once again the media is pushing the country over the edge on purpose.
Just like they did with COVID, just like they did with Russia, just like they did with hands up, don’t shoot, just like they did with Trayvon.
The media is driving everything in this country, and it’s time they’re stopped.
Whether or not the policeman is guilty of the man’s death will be determined in court. It really doesn’t matter what any of us conclude in the meantime.
It looks to me like the officer killed Floyd, but maybe he didn’t.
You can if you press on both sides, but it does have to be both sides.
you can press against the sides of my neck and keep me from breathing with my windpipe? huh?
“...Was this another rush to judgement?”
If they could have found him sooner he would have already been LYNCHED!
All you “MURDERER” people, should be ASHAMED of yourselves!
I can tell that none of you “MURDERER people” are REGULAR viewers of Live PD or COPS.
REAL LIFE and/or LIVE interaction between police and lawbreakers.
Its a REAL “education”.
If you were, you would KNOW that suspects LIE to police. Even claiming that drugs found in their pockets aren’t theirs because “these aren’t my pants”. You laugh, but you would be surprised just how many times that absurd excuse is invoked.
“I can’t breathe”. I couldn’t count the number of times a suspect has claimed that they “can’t breathe” because it is such a COMMON tactic.
“If you’re talking, you’re breathing” is a “truism”. If you truly can’t breathe, you won’t WASTE your breath “talking”.
This isn’t a “BUT”, but I have said from the beginning, that the officer held Floyd down WAY TOO LONG. Like the bystander said, “he’s not resisting, why don’t you let him up”.
YES! Why NOT “let him up”. Why continue that now unnecessary physical restraint?
That does NOT excuse you vigilantes calling the officer a “MURDERER”.
Poor judgement, overuse of force, sure! But “MURDER”?
Now we know, IT WASN’T MURDER!
Sure can.
If someone presses the sides of your neck for a few minutes, you will never use your windpipe again.
Learn to MMA.
“Maybe not murder then, but clearly criminally negligent homicide or manslaughter”
Okay, so now that you have been proved wrong, you have reduced your charges.
How much lower will you reduce your charges when the tox screens come back positive for DRUGS?
I agree.
Not necessarily true.
Did you read the police report? Floyd already was put in the police car in the front. When they tried to move him to the back, it was then, he either resisted or he wasn't able to physically cooperate and to get in the back seat. That's when they brought him to the ground.
Also in the report was the part where Floyd FIRST said that he was having a hard time breathing, and he said that as they were trying to move him from the front of the car to the back. That's before the cop put a knee to his neck.
So was Floyd having a heart attack? What preexisting conditions did he have? Was the knee to the neck not asphyxiating him? Did they call for medical help? Did they not put him in the car a second time because they were waiting for medical help? If they thought he was having medical issues, why was the cop still kneeing Floyd?
The cop is going to be found not guilty.
Not that it matters except to the cop.
The autopsy says you are wrong, but hey, you watched a video, which tells you more than an autopsy.
Stopping the flow of blood to your brain has absolutely NOTHING to do with Strangulation, just more deflection by morally bankrupt people.
Even if Floyd was stroking out from PCP, high blood pressure, and stress, the cops didn’t need to sit on his neck for 6 to 8 minutes until he was dead.
It’s very hard to believe this autopsy report. No credibility.
Just as hard as it was to believe initial police claims of Floyd being so combative he had to have his neck kneed upon while he was clearly in behind-the-back handcuffs, in broad daylight, and recorded by people pleading with the cops to back off.
It was more than that. Officer Lane correctly recognized excitement delirium. In this state two of the things experienced are unusual strength and tirelessness.
If you lean on the neck of someone with various other illnesses, he may not be asphyxiated, or suffer trauma to the neck itself, but the act may physically trigger the underlying conditions.
If the cop didn’t asphyxiate him, but gave him a fatal heart attack, that is still a form of homicide, and, depending on circumstances, possible motivations, etc., he may still be guilty of murder.
Myself, my best guess is probably second degree murder. As evidence comes out, I’m open to taking another guess.
You don’t even know if the cop was putting weight on that knee. Maybe his weight was on his other knee. The perp started saying he couldn’t breathe while still standing, before resisting being put in the back seat.
This is the new fashion here, people make up their minds first and then look for supporting evidence, while ignoring anything that doesn’t fit their preconception.
