They’re talking Taiwan, not India.

We don’t have to nuke unless they go nuclear. Keep the fighting to air/sea with limited ground fighting and we win. They can’t project enough troops to invade Taiwan right now. Our SSN’s and stand off missiles would devastate a chicom invasion fleet. Right now they are pissing in all their neighbors tents at the same time. India, Vietnam., Australia, Sourh Korea and Japan along with the USN, USAF & USMC could raise havoc with the chicoms invasion fleet.

I do think if the chicoms believe they have lost the Mandate of Heaven to rule they will try and use a war to retain power. Invading Taiwan would draw in Japan and US but their propaganda machine would rage against the Japanese, the old enemy of most of Asia and Taiwan as well. This might buy the Chicoms some time but a bloody defeat could push them into using WMD’s against Japan proper and Guam, which would require a retaliatory response from US.

That’s the response.

But first set them up by demanding payment on the old pre-revolution Chinese bonds we hold.

When they repudiate them and declare that Taiwan owes them...

There was also the fact they didn’t have enough transports In the entire Japanese merchant fleet to support an invasion of Oahu. Nor enough oilers to keep a fleet on station to make a landing.

And the fact that the IJA never made an opposed landing in the war.

This stuff sounds familiar. Sort of like when Germany was talking about “Ein Volk, ein Land”.

This might be a good time to FINALLY cram COOL through congress.

COOL, Country Of Origin Labeling.

Let the American people know where the products they are deciding between actually came from.

“I would not be surprised if Taiwan has secretly acquired nukes.”

The power of nuclear weapons is deterrence. If nobody knows you have them Taiwan’s only option is to USE them. No matter how many they have, once they use them China must respond of lose face. Not responding would be for the regime to commit suicide. Then, the replacement regime would use them.

If Taiwan had nukes they would be wise to set off a few test explosions and then announce they were fully deployed with a pretty good delivery system. However, doing so would cause the entire would to boycott them, which would cause their populous to starve to death.

ChiComs ... you knew it was coming.

Nixon should have never thrown the Beijing junta a lifeline. He should have let them continue to collapse.

“Get ready to nuke China then.”

The current Congress will not declare war against China if China attacks and takes over Taiwan. Sadly the United State is overly dependent on Chinese factories. Unlike WWII when were were self sufficient in manufacturing, today there is insufficient domestic capacity or capability in many key industries from electronics, to chemicals, to steel, to pharmaceuticals for the US to go to war with China. Plus too many Congressmen are on the take from the China lobby — Republicans and Democrats.

It would be unconstitutional for any President to unilaterally respond to Chinese aggression against Taiwan without first asking for, and receiving a declaration of war from Congress.

Besides, China doesn’t have the resources to do a sea invasion, either.

That's probably not true.

I am going to miss The Forbidden City.

Taiwan is not going to miss the Three Gorges Dam.

I hear the hoofbeats the horsemen of war and conquest coming. War with China may well be days away. It will start with a devastating Pear Harbor like attack. Goal—rig it to look like Trump started it—He loses election, Biden will “make peace” and China gets to carry on like they did under Obama. Look to see North Korea active again soon as well as Iran. China has no choice—They must use foreign war as a way to unify a divided people. This time America will be hit with cyber attacks, turn off the powergrid. Lots of young people will go nuts without phones or Computers—and want to sue for peace.

I'd hate to lose the whole post:
Sink their floating navy, like yesterday. I am sick of these warmongering poop holes. This is pre-WWII Imperial Japan on steroids. They mean war and they mean world domination. And if Russia thinks the resources of Siberia aren’t on their wish list, then I have a bridge to sell them.

United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 passed in 1971, expelled Taiwan from the U.N. The U.S. voted against it.

A simple formula for reunification: end all press censorship, allow free formation of alternative parties, free and open multi-party elections, remove CCP control over all organs of state, place the military under state rather than party control, allow the Kuomintang to participate in elections in mainland China at all levels.

The USA should prepare for war and we should start by recognizing Taiwan as a free and independent nation. And then arm Taiwan to the teeth!
