Derek Chauvin charged with murder, manslaughter
Derek Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter in George Floyd’s death, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announc
They don’t have enough evidence right now to charge him but they did it for political reasons. It might turn out there is evidence down the line but yesterday the DA sure didn’t seem confident, then social media and media picked up on his comments and less than 24 hrs later an arrest and charges.
Defendant should ask for the trial to be moved and have a judge not a jury decide.
Freeman said a criminal complaint will be released later, but “I didn’t want to wait any longer to share the news that he’s in custody and charged with murder.”
