Look how often mass shootings happen just when the gun grabbers need them.

Did you bother to watch the video of the man’s death, or are you going on 4th degree rumor at this point?

of course I watched the video it was HORRIBLE, the cop should be charged with 2nd degree murder, and the other officers too who stood around and did NOTHING they were just as bad or even worse than the cop who did the killing..but stealing stuff from stores isnt “justice” its just morons using this to get free stuff

“He needs Wild West Justice. I don’t care what anyone says.”

That is an interesting comment.

What does it mean?

“You can be against the protestor actions will still believing this guy is violent shouldn’t ever be a cop again.”

Is it ok to be against arson and rioting too?

Thanks for the info and the link. I doubt Chauvin knew when he responded that Floyd was the individual the police had been called for. He was certainly a big enough man, with a distinctive face that if Chauvin knew him in the past, would recognize him again. Hopefully, any interactions between them will be ferreted out during the investigation. A lot hinges on the autopy results too, and whatever other video that may exist, but hasn’t been reported on, or seen yet. An article yesterday quoted a retired Minnesota police trainer who said that a neck restraint is taught to all the police officers. I find that hard to believe because it was never a part of approved training when I went through restraint and unarmed defensive tactics during my 25 years in uniform in NY State’s prisons. If the officer was the cause of the man’s death, then he should be held accountable, but like most of these incidents, the police officer, and it’s usually always a white police officer that’s in the mix, is tried in the media before all of the facts come out. And that is what helps fuel the riots that follow in the aftermath.

They don’t have enough evidence right now to charge him but they did it for political reasons. It might turn out there is evidence down the line but yesterday the DA sure didn’t seem confident, then social media and media picked up on his comments and less than 24 hrs later an arrest and charges.

Defendant should ask for the trial to be moved and have a judge not a jury decide.

It will be a problem picking a jury, no matter the venue.

"This exact same scenario happened on Orange is the New Black."

I never watched the show, because I worked for 25 years in NY State Corrections, and I can't watch any prison shows or movies, because the majority of the stuff they show in these productions is BS. It never happened during my career, and more than likely, would never happen. Today's police programs take stories right out of the newspapers to create their episodes. I stopped watching "Blue Bloods" because I got tired of seeing depicted in a TV show, the same story that had been reported in the media a few months before. It's just writers, creating their stories from the news. Boring, and predictable.

I’m hearing reports that George Floyd and Derek Chauvin knew one another and even worked together as security guards!

They were at least acquainted.

Where are the other 2 people that were in the car with george floyd?

What car? Floyd was peacefully marched out of a store by officers before they killed him.

I wouldn’t think Chauvin knew it at the time he responded either. But if you watch the video of when Chauvin walked up to the car, he and Floyd talked to each other for sometime, until a ruckus occurred. Probably when either they recognized each other, or Floyd became upset because someone he knew was about to arrest him over a supposedly fake $20 bill. Or maybe it was Chauvin who initiated the conflict due to some beef he had with Floyd. It’s pretty apparent Chauvin wanted Floyd dead. Treating a former coworker that way is unusual, unless there was some animosity, or they didn’t recognized one another, which I seriously doubt after reports that they worked at the same club for 17 years.

There is more to the story. It will come out eventually, and it might not even change the outcome. But nobody, and certainly not a cop, would just flat out murder someone on the street in front of witnesses and knowingly being recorded. A lot of this doesn’t make sense.
