MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has been arrested days after George Floyd’s fatal arrest that sparked protests and outcry across the city and nation.
On Friday, John Harrington, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, announced that Chauvin has been taken into custody in connection with the May 25 death.
Chauvin is the former officer in the video seen around the world with his knee on Floyd’s neck. He’d been with Minneapolis police for 19 years.
It was not immediately clear what the expected charges Chauvin could face are.

I am sorry a person died due to the policeman cutting his blood supply to his brain for a long time even after he could have been cuffed. Just wrong. If it was someone I loved I would be just besides myself. Would I burn down the town no, but I would have a good damn lawyer and get my vengeance in the court system.
Isn’t that interesting? Do you suppose any of these people watched it?
So let’s say it’s all a super planned out conspiracy. Does that include choosing who the victim is going to be? And the assassin cop, who is in on the plot, gets the go from some Soros handler? And the other cops who did nothing to stop it, are they assets too? The person getting the video? The 911 caller?
The only thing a conspiracy has going for it is how inexplicable the cops’ actions are.

There is a well-known, long-standing Alinskyite lefty tactic, via Cloward and Piven, called “bottom up, top down” in which you deliberately create unrest so you can crack down on it in order to get absolute power or as close to it as you can. You keep doing it until you have total control.
I read that Floyd worked inside the bar. Chauvin worked outside, and that it was not yet known if the men actually knew each other.

I’m not necessarily buying this theory myself, though Democrats are definitely the kind of people who would try something like this — ANYTHING for power, after all — but the idea is that it gets Biden’s racist gaffes off the news, and substitutes a “racist America” meme that they think they can use against the president.
IF that is what they’re thinking, it won’t work.

MINNEAPOLIS — A former Minneapolis club owner has said that both George Floyd and the fired police officer in whose custody Floyd died Monday used to work security at her club, opening up the question of whether the two men knew one another.
Maya Santamaria told KSTP in Minneapolis that Floyd and Derek Chauvin worked security at El Nuevo Rodeo up to the end of last year. Santamaria said she sold the building, which she owned for 20 years, a few months ago.
“Chauvin was our off-duty police for almost the entirety of the 17 years that we were open,” Santamaria told the news station. “They were working together at the same time, it’s just that Chauvin worked outside and the security guards were inside.”
