he could call out the National Guard, for a state mission such as natural emergencies and civil unrests...and if one should think the Guard cannot be used against citizenry, that one should think again...

The Guard is outnumbered.

And anyway, most of them would be on our side.

He is threatining taking away liquor licences. He has lost control, and he knows it.

"I'm Joe Schmo, and I'm a Republican running for Governor of Pennsylvania. Vote for me and I'll ensure that any license that was suspended by this administration is restored to you, any fines are refunded, and that any record of punishment is expunged."

Sounds like a winner to me.

‘What was Ike doing when he nationalized the NG in the Deep South over segregation?’

if you’re referring to Orval Faubus blocking students with the Guard, that was an action that violated the US Constitution, which held in 1954 that racial segregation was unconstitutional, somewhat of a different kettle of fish than Wolf calling out the Guard to deal with the unruly rabble during a state emergency...but we’ll see, you may be correct about Wolf’s mettle...

No they don’t! I have not been on lockdown (my company is exempt) and I’ve seen a grand total of one trooper since our lockdown started almost two months ago - not even on the turnpike.

The only stories I’ve heard of cops harassing “violators” have involved very small communities with part-time cops, one of which stopped a lady delivering papers at 4:30 a.m. and asked her, “What are you doing out at this hour? Don’t you know about the travel restrictions?” Her back seat was loaded with papers and she replied, “What the hell do you think I’m doing with my car loaded with newspapers?”

This is from PA's neighbor to the north, specifically the Southern Tier. Check out the list displayed in the pic. Pay special attention to the last point. And check out the last paragraph of the article. Are readers supposed to interpret that to mean that they would if the could? Lovely. BTW, Moss is a Republican. Snort.

Chris Moss outlines “smart start” to reopening the Southern Tier

Also looks like they're fixing to blame PA if need be.

The list I’m referencing is in the second pic, the one dealing with getting your business plan ready....

I have the option of going over to Idaho to shop....I don't wish to pay one cent to the state of Washington for this LOCKDOWN but sure as hell my property taxes will go up....

bad enough we had to pay an average of 16% raises to the teachers due to a "court" order, but now they'll probably try to stuff an income tax down our throats....

well let the teachers and Boeing workers pay it...

Wolf’s only option would be the State Police.

There aren’t nearly enough of them, and they want NO part of becoming the tip of this spear.>>> No the insurance Commissioner and the Occupational Licencing offices are also threatening business by revoking there operating licences and their insurance viability. I believe these threats are civil rights violations. I have sent a complaint to McSwain to investigate.

I’m with you! I’ve contributed the max amounts to his campaign every year since he was elected. They contacted me two weeks ago and I told them - not so politely, that he needs to get his “head out of his ass” and stop listening to Fauci. Some of us are seriously pissed off that he cozied up to Newsom and Cuomo and criticized Kemp, but I’m campaigning for him anyway.

Tom Wolf does NOT have the stomach for a Kent State moment with the National Guard. You can take that one to the bank.>>> Yes but he is using the PID to threaten insurance liability and the occupational licencing offices are threatening to rescinding licences. I believe these threats are civil rights violations.

Our problem is, even our Republican politicians - at least those who aspire to the office of governor, aren’t exactly Republicans or conservative. I know Tom Ridge pretty well and he’s a helluva nice guy, but we disagreed on pretty much everything but the Steelers, horses and beer. I once told him, “Tom, is raising taxes the answer to every question?”

Actually this is getting better by the minute.

I agree with you though, this state could really use a few Republicans who had Trump’s b@lls.

‘He has lost control, and he knows it.’

he is accusing the resisting counties as ‘deserting in the face of the enemy’...we’ll see if they back down or not...

one thing about politicians today; they listen to black women first, and suburban soccer moms second...Wolf has these little dearies in his back pocket, and if they start crying enough alligator tears, the county pols will be back pedaling like a uni cyclist...

I would also add that attorneys are lining up to file lawsuits when the smoke clears on this BS. I think that guy up in Maine - the one who defied the governor’s edicts and opened his restaurant with proper distancing, etc. - is gonna be a rich man when it’s all over.

Harmeet Dhillon, a conservative civil rights attorney and Vice Chair of the California Republican Party, is lining up a bunch of lawsuits.

“he could call out the National Guard, for a state mission such as natural emergencies and civil unrests...and if one should think the Guard cannot be used against citizenry, that one should think again...”

ummm... the National Guard IS the citizenry.

And probably very sensitive to illegal orders being made against their families.

Military members have an OBLIGATION to not follow an illegal order from a superior officer.
