At least Khadafi had the place under control, except for a few extremists and rebels. Obama gave them U.S. air force support and allowed al Qaeda turn Libya into its backyard.

I think we should care enough to at least understand what’s going on in the world and have some idea of who are the good guys, if any, and who are the bad guys. May not be our fight, but sometimes you don’t get to chose not to fight. I miss the thoughtful analysis we used to see about 15 to 20 years ago from freepers on events like this.

Libya is a mess because of the illegal overthrow of their government orchestrated by Obama and Hillary and supported by McCain, Graham and Rubio.

The conflict is not just Islamist versus anti-Islamist, but it also manifests Turkey's neo-Ottoman bid to become a regional power, the security strategies of Russia and Israel, and efforts by Egypt and Gulf Arab states to develop stronger regional diplomatic and military ties.

Libya is also a deeply fractured country, with deep hostility between urban, relatively well-developed Tripoli and the less developed area to the east. That area has strong tribal traditions and disputes Tripoli's efforts to control the country's oil and gas resources. Since much of those resources are smuggled out to pay for Russian and Turkish help, the rebel faction in the eastern part of Libya has ready financing for its war against the recognized government in Tripoli.

Confusion over the US and allied interests at stake in Libya, if any, is natural because our national security strategy is often publicly incoherent due to the risk of revealing too much unpalatable truth. Doing nothing is not much of a strategy in itself but here it seems the best approach. In essence, we are giving backing to the legitimate government in Tripoli and letting antagonistic interests and energies sort things out so long as US interests are not infringed and US rules and limitations are adhered to.

That Obama, Mrs. Clinton, and Damnus McStain, sure were
foreign policy geniuses.

Libya is so much better off today.

Strange how little we hear about what is going on there.

Why heck, it might reflect poorly...

Khalifa Haftar's yearlong Tripoli offensive against the Ankara-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) began to collapse. Believed to have been supplied to the Libyan strongman as early as last year by his backers [Iran's stooges] in the Gulf, the Russian system was meant to be used as a trump card against Turkey's combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) air interdiction operations... Analysis of open source data has estimated that up to 9 Pantsir units were lost in quick succession to UAV strikes during May, with footage of the strikes going viral on social media. To add insult to injury, a tenth Pantsir system was dramatically captured by GNA forces, and to great fanfare paraded through Tripoli as a war trophy. It is speculated that the captured Pantsir's final fate is to be picked apart for intelligence purposes.
