Video at link. (2.5 minutes)
Dr. Berg (Chiropractor) reviews an Indonesian study that examined the vitamin D levels in 780 COVID patients and the outcomes.
4% of patients with Normal levels of Vitamin D died. 88% of patients with insufficient levels died. 99% of patients with deficient levels died.
Vitamin D was associated with decreased severity of blood clots, hypoxia, and respiratory stress.
Vitamin D also decreases the cytokine storm.

and what does one get from being out in the sun?? That’s right- vitamin D....
Take a look at the numbers of confirmed cases in the state of Florida before and after they opened the beaches...there’s a difference of 40% less confirmed cases after beaches were opened, despite more testing...
Vitamin D is the KEY supplement to a STRONG HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM. Vitamin D is referred to as the "sunshine vitamin."
If I recall correctly... it takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes of the body being exposed to direct sunlight daily to get the MDR of vitamin D.
It's one of the reasons that the winter cold and flu season in Florida, Southern Calif and Arizona are somewhat negligible compared to living in the midwest during winter and going weeks without seeing the sun.
I've been taking a heavy dose of vitamin D supplement for 15 plus years and have seldom suffered anything other than a minor cold.
I grew up in the upper midwest and currently for the last 30 years have resided in the mid-south.
I’m with you. He is blessed with a gift of communication and explaining things better than most.
D3 deficiency is no joke. Depression and congnitivity is where I noticed it after I took the stuff (docs prescription..50,000IU once a week). Its cheap OTC supplement. If you dont get out in the sun much then you need it.
I think Vitamin D has so many known benefits and potential benefits that is very wise to supplement. I take 2-3000 IU of D3 daily and some extra Vitamin K about every 5 days or so.
During HINI a doctor in Canada gave all her patients maximum dosages of D3. None caught the disease. While others nearby caught and were dying with it. Really need a Fauci like study done on it too.
We should all take D3 so we dont turn to ash outside
What is difference in Vitamin D and Vitamin D3? What dosage do you all take?
I get a Pioneer brand chewable D3 & K2 from Vitamin Shoppe.
2000 IU D3
1000 IU K2 (MK-4)
Dr. Berg does sell supplements, but that doesn’t make his nutritional videos any less informative.
Counterintuitive for a study on consequences of being “insufficient” or deficient in Vitamin D to be coming out of Indonesia. Which ranges in latitude between 6°N and 11°S. No shortage of sunlight there! Shows that sunlight alone doesn’t explain the puzzles regarding Vitamin D.
What Vitamin D Dosage Is Best?
"Despite its importance, roughly 42% of people in the US have a vitamin D deficiency. This number rises to a staggering 82.1% of black people and 69.2% of Hispanic people (4Trusted Source)."
That's interesting. I wonder if that's why Blacks are having a tougher time with this.
“I wonder if that’s why Blacks are having a tougher time with this.”
I bet that’s part of it.
If people only knew the value of D3/K and Vitamin C, ascorbate acid...and doctors, too.
Is this something you and your colleagues pay attention to?
I mean I wish more docs knew their value
I dont want to get into a big long tadoo about Vitamin D
Yes, it is important.
Yes, Covid patients are low in VItamin D...we dont know if it caused the disease or because of the disease
BUT Vitamin D is not what many think it is....and even Drs...case in point..my Dr who gave me a vitamin D hammer because my Vitamin D was below 20. Also made no mention of telling me to take K2..but I knew to do that.
I had a reaction that I thought was a herxheimer reaction to a few pellets of monolaurin..It turns out ..It MAY be because of the 50k Vitamin D hammer i take once a week
this is far too in the weeds to discuss...but Drs should be looking at it in relation to Covid

Vitamin D: New Research
By Veronica D. Stolzt
In some cases 1.25 INCREASES inflammation
What is your ‘heavy dose’?
I will probably shock you — Yes, I have become impressed with some of the studies. We have implemented in my hospital Zinc when able to assist in treatment (Class 2b intervention — possibly helpful, not harmful) in conjunction with HCQ and Azithromycin
We have proceeded to fully heparinize patients because of the clotting we are seeing and starting steroids 40 - 80 mg / day. This seems to help the most critical of patients
I do recommend Vitamin D, C and zinc...knowing that most of us to get these naturally, but it can’t hurt.
There are some interesting studies (Duke) of 3 grams vitamin C per day IV for sepsis with some interesting results.
As MOM MD previously said, when I am attending a critically ill patient, there is a dietician as part of my team and he or she modulates and adjusts feedings as appropriate including vitamins.
I think I have learned in all of this that perhaps Vitamin Supplementation is a good (although not perfect) prophylaxis— it is something to think about
