Complain to that trucking site, about the incorrect numbers. I only copied their article.
Regarding Tyson only having a couple of people get sick.... why shut down an entire plant, or break the food chain supply (per Tyson CEO), over just a few sick employees??
Why arent grocery stores and hospitals closing over a few sick employees?
Why just these meat plants?
Perhaps (hopefully) your trucker friend can help answer that. Has he seen a slow down of trucking, overall? Just curious what theyre seeing, out there.
Thanks.
I wasnt disagreeing with the numbers you posted but as I pointed out Tyson moves many more loads through contractors than they do with their own trucks.
When the so called lock down went into effect he saw a major increase in the loads he was moving. That went on for a couple of weeks and then leveled off. However as of last week they told him to expect to be down by about 30-40 percent. He was getting 2800-3500 miles per week. He is expecting to drop to 1900-2500.
Tyson sells as much to other manufacturers of food products and restaurants as they do to grocery stores.
My friend has been home for a break since last week. He is heading out tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what will transpire.
