Trump isn’t one to stand around and talk science fiction nor does he have a habit of letting his internal monologue just leak out. That seemed like he knows something and is setting up the press again.

This is my take as well. Some people, even here, are not so good at pattern recognition. The one effect that seemingly odd statements like this have is to get all the dumbed-down MSM types talking about it, so that Trump can then spring the real point, whereas if he tried to spring the real point immediately, the MSM dummies would try to ignore it. This is all probably Trump rope-a-dope yet again.
