This idea of calling as many deaths as possible CV deaths started in Italy and has “gone viral”.
The really bad thing...I don’t think anyone will be able to settle the legitimacy debate except for honest historians years down the road...and there probably won’t be any honest historians years down the road! I don’t mean to sound preachy, but this ain’t a bad time to look to the sky.

Well, unfortunately, some of it is “made-up”. As another poster pointed out, New York decided to reclassify 3000 deaths as a result of coronavirus instead of their original designation and they entered those all in one day which blew the average deaths per day numbers up.
And there has been much made of the fact that hospitals are assigning death by coronavirus to a lot of things that may have nothing or very little to do with the disease. Maybe you didn’t know this but, the federal government is paying hospitals to treat people without insurance for coronavirus. As you can probably guess, there’s great incentive for hospitals to assign a coronavirus diagnosis to anybody with influenza, pneumonia for any number of pathogenic illnesses if they are uninsured or underinsured.

There is also an underlying motive by the left and the media to make things sound worse than they are. From the media’s perspective, disaster sells and anything that harms Trump is a good thing. And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you what the Democrats motives are in trying to make things seem worse than they are.
So, you can cast aspersions on people for having doubts, but tell me why they shouldn’t?

Also the Left does not want the less infected states to reopen for business. This would put people back to work and America on the way to recovery.
The left wants to discredit the President on how he handle the outbreak.
President Trump has flatten the curve, ensured we will be ready for future outbreaks if it returns this fall, and push what appears to be a successful drug.
Guess they didn’t want to backtrack through all the dates and just stuck them on “today”.

Agreed. I have also been following deaths by writing them down manually since late March. It is useless. If you go back and check prior days, they have changed, sometimes by hundreds. Numbers from the site are worthless
To be clear they REPORTED those deaths on a single day. Those deaths did not occur on that day. Worldometer lists deaths based on the date reported.
I believe there was something similar in the data for a France where there was a large spike in deaths due to reporting methodology.

It’s true New York reclassified 3000 deaths which skewed the figures FOR THAT DAY. That doesn’t negate the rest of their figures. Again - you choose what you want to believe and then find a way to justify believing it. Too many dead in New York? They must be counting people who died of other things.
I don’t know ONE person with the virus. I see people walking into the grocery stores. Some even walk out again. How do I know there IS actually a virus and this is not some evil plot by Chuck ’n’ Nancy to rule the world and overthrow the evil orange man? My point is, you HAVE to believe SOME data on this from SOMEWHERE - and what the states are reporting seems to be about as good as it gets, no matter how many of you dismiss it all as a hoax.

As far as I’m concerned, virtually the whole damned media should be … well, put out of a job because of the utterly irresponsible way they have TERRORIZED much of the population of the United States - particularly in states where there seems to be no good reason to be terrorized.

I wish Trump hadn’t been so willing to pay for everything. If he hadn’t I think there would be more of a push to open for business. Now we have to sit back and watch the fraud take place.
