IMPORTANT UPDATE (April 3): In an exclusive interview, Dr. Zelenko provides a major update about the results of his COVID-19 patients: 700 coronavirus patients treated with 99.9% success rate using Hydroxychloroquine, 1 outpatient died after not following protocol.

Last Wednesday, we published the success story from Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, a board-certified family practitioner in New York, after he successfully treated 350 coronavirus patients with 100 percent success using a cocktail of drugs: hydroxychloroquine, in combination with azithromycin (Z-Pak), an antibiotic to treat secondary infections, and zinc sulfate. Dr. Zelenko said he saw the symptom of shortness of breath resolved within four to six hours after treatment. Hydroxychloroquine is now being used worldwide, according to a map from French Dr. Didier Raoult. In the meantime, scientists at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine believe they’ve found potential vaccine for coronavirus.

Now, Dr. Zelenko provides updates on the treatment after he successfully treated 699 COVID-19 patients in New York. In an exclusive interview with former New York Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, Dr. Vladmir Zelenko shares the results of his latest study, which showed that out of his 699 patients treated, zero patients died, zero patients intubated, and four hospitalizations.

Dr. Zelenko said the whole treatment costs only $20 over a period of 5 days with 100% success. He defines success as “Not to die.” Dr. Zelenko first posted his Facebook video message last week calling on President Trump to “advise the country that they should be taking this medication.”

There are many other success stories about hydroxychloroquine across the country. Last week, Dr. William Grace, an oncologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said they’ve not had a single death in their hospital because of hydroxychloroquine. “Thanks to hydroxychloroquine, we have not had a death in our hospital,’ Dr. Grace said.

Interesting video on that link. Dr. Zelenko is now up to 900 patients. Says he was seeing so many patients he ran out of hydroxychloroquine.

And even though New York allowed doctors to prescribe it, they would not allow pharmacies to fill the prescriptions for it. He says that his patients were having to go to other states in the area to get the drug. New York was holding on to the drug for the worst cases. Unfortunately that is when the drug is least effective.

Something that occurs to me having actually filled out hundreds of death certificates is, whenever I did that I documented in the chart and on the certificate who the “Primary Doctor” was and in the chart documented that i had made that call, to that doctor to inform him of his patient’s demise. It strikes me that in NYC right now they might not have a lot of time for making those calls. IOW, statistically, as above, it is clear this doctor is just not receiving those calls.

Sounds great, but 699 is still anecdotal.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's or one old fart’s life, it's worth it.

So what I’m hearing is “Even if this guy actually exists it is most likely he has deaths among his patients he is “unaware of”? Charitably put?

Just the reverse. If this guy is reporting accurately, and his reports are compatible with those of other physicians, then his treatment regimen is a game-changer. The outcomes for this family practice physician who uses Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Zinc and Z-Pak do not in any way match the outcomes for the city or state as a whole. I do not consider losing track of patients a plausible explanation, and even lying does not fit with the positive reports from other doctors. It's possible that this is sampling bias - those who see a doctor early enough that they don't need the ER are at extremely low risk. It's far more likely that this is a nearly 100% effective treatment when administered early.

Having carefully considered the evidence here and other places on this website for the last month or more, is this your conclusion?

NEW DELHI: India is considering US President Donald trump’s request to lift ban on the export of hydroxychloroquine tablets that can be used to treat covid-19 patients.

According to people familiar with the development in New Delhi, the request is under consideration with India expected to take a call after assessing its own domestic requirement of the drug.

Trump late Saturday had said he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to supply hydroxychloroquine tablets to his country, which now has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the world.

The French covid-19 IHU study previously published is an ongoing one. The results are updated daily on their website

https://www.mediterranee-infection.com/covid-19/

Currently they have treated 1,818 covid-19 patients with Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycine. Of that group they state there have been 5 deaths in patients who have received 3 or more days of treatment.

Dr. Stephen Smith, the founder of the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases in New Jersey: “Well, we’ve treated over 50 patients. And we’re starting everybody that can be started on hydroxychloroquine or Plaquenil and azithromycin.

And I asked my team of six what they think. Do you think it works? Because again, we’re giving it to everybody. So, no control. And everyone, except one, said yes. The other was undecided.

The one interesting stat of our group, our experience, is that we’ve had 53 patients so far, 10 of which have begun intubated. Of everybody that’s been intubated, that means put on a ventilator, has done so within the first 36 hours, I mean, no patient has gone three days of treatment with these drugs and been intubated afterwards. Now, that’s amazing to me.”

He said, “It’s absolutely a game changer. I think this is the beginning of the end of the pandemic. I’m really serious.”

Is any information available upon the shuttered West Virginia plant which did manufacture HCQ several years ago, due to reopen.

Also about a story on Israeli manufacturing and gifting of HCQ some millions of doses of HCQ to the USA.

An American expat on these boards with a username ending in 123 indicated that they lived in VietNam and VietNam manufactured HCQ.

I must leave now. Thank you, Norski

Seen this movie. I was a big fan of Laetrile. “Can there be a worse outcome than Death?

https://quackwatch.org/related/Cancer/laetrile/

Turns out, there can be. For The Profession. The ONE thing (and I used to stress this when they asked me to talk to Pre Meds as retired physician), the one thing I have to sell is Integrity. In an age where anyone can learn what I know with three mouse clicks the ONLY thing I have to sell is Integrity.

When all this is over and it is discovered, as it was with Laetrile, that there was no benefit after all it will be The Medical Profession that will be damaged. Not politicians. Not the lay people who were “convinced”.

Israel generic drug giant Teva offered to donate 10 million doses. The company said six million doses will be delivered to US hospitals by March 31, and more than ten million in a month.

Mylan recently restarted the production of hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets at the Morgantown plant.

“Can there be a worse outcome than death?” Actually no! If I were in the medical profession I would be more worried about the damage to the profession from the reality that the scientific bureaucracy’s intransigence has likely led to the unnecessary deaths of thousands of people.

We are in a deadly pandemic....people across the globe are dropping like flies. It is no time to rigidly cling to established practices that delay saving patients lives. You refer to the fact that today people can become informed with just a few clicks on the internet. So true. Physicians and scientists can easily become informed now, too.

I find rejecting multiple well conducted “observational” studies that offer the potential of major reductions in patient deaths in order to insist instead on large, randomized, time consuming double blind studies before drug use during a health crisis unacceptable. Especially when the drug has an exceptionally good safety record. I personally took the drug daily for almost 10 years and it was not for a fatal disease.

Interesting note: The shortage of hydroxychloroquine was partly the result of physicians hoarding of the drug. Apparently they didn’t feel the need to wait until Dr. Fauci had concluded trials next year either...:-)
