Gents - don’t doubt for a second that wet markets are a major vector for animal to human transmission of viruses. This has been well known and documented for decades. The government of China has been warned repeatedly about wet markets and how they could easily cause a pandemic. SARS, H1N1, and the list goes on and on.

I don’t know if/where this came from for certain nor do you, but please don’t decide its a conspiracy of some kind so it’s okay for these wet markets to continue operating. As long as they have wet markets serving exotic cuisine (especially bats) it is not “if” they start a pandemic. It is when it will happen (again).

It is an absolute outrage that they have not closed every one of these markets. There are other 3rd world countries with markets like this. If nobody traveled to and from those countries I would not care, but they do and we are likely suffering greatly because of this practice..... Thousands of death and trillions of dollars that our children will have to repay possibly because a person wanted to eat “bat soup.”

Food safety is a big deal as we are now witnessing.

That’s a good point. I think it’s mind-bogglingly unlikely that the bat corona virus did not come from the lab 288 meters away where they were studying bat corona viruses, but it’s also true that diseases do also come from exotic animals in these markets.

If they cared they should make a list of what types of animals can be eaten. Then imprison everyone who sells or eats any other type of animal.

It would do wonders for their organ harvesting business.

There were NO bats present or for sale at the Wu Han wet market. That coming from witnesses who were at the market before the outbreak.

Coincidentally, there’s a biolab nearby, experimenting on bats and corona virus. But you still want to blame wet markets and bats?
