Lying stoned in your parents’ basement is no way to encourage critical thinking. That has been the objective of legalizing marijuana and other recreational drugs (which do very little for REAL recreation) and rationalizing its use for the supposed “tax revenue” is another empty promise that shall never be fulfilled. The costs associated with relatively uncontrolled drug use greatly exceed the additional funds collected in levies placed on the product as “sin taxes”. And you end up with a lot of low-information people, who can be motivated to vote.

The imagine of stoners lying in their parents basement is anecdotal at best, sophomoric at worst. Because of marijuana’s illegality there are no consumer product safety laws in place and in those sates where it isn’t legal drugs dealer sure don’t ask for id.

There is no reason on Earth why criminals should continue to profit from it’s sale and distribution and no reason why adults shouldn’t be allowed to smoke. People don’t get off their ass to vote when they’re sober.
