Arizona has not rolled out any statewide coronavirus lockdown measures in what some panicked residents are slamming as a huge, sick experiment, according to a report.
The Grand Canyon State is among 10 states that have no shelter-in-place measures on the state, county or municipal level, the Guardian reported...

Stay in your state.
They’ve got a pretty high rate per capita and they are slow on testing.
The article says there are 10 states that do not have lock down orders.
Any idea which ones they are?
A lot of older retirees in AZ...
Sweden is doing the same thing.By September the figures will be in showing this policy to either be a stroke of genius or something akin to a crime against humanity.
Maybe they are trying to eliminate that older, retiree population.
They may believe a that due to heat and dryness that Covid19 might not take off there. Back in the day, Arizona was where people headed to get better from TB and possibly *Spanish flu.
*need to look that one up.
My state is not a shelter-in-place state and infection rate is low. Even so, the vast, vast majority are behaving and acting responsibly, particularly in rural areas. I am planning an out-of-state trip later this week to a low-density population area, driving there, staying in a small B&B, and looking to spend time in the mountains outdoors (not skiing, although I would love to). I think it is a low-risk venture. I need some R&R.
Governor Ducey just issued a stay-at-home order for Arizona beginning at the end of business on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
Arizona is not under a strict shelter in place order. Those who provide critical infrastructure support may still travel to and from work. Our data center support does qualify as essential services.
Computer operators, hardware support, shipping and receiving activities are all necessary for our business to operate.
But, if you do not need to be in the office, stay home. If you do need to temporarily come to the office to perform a task, leave when you are done.
If there is any question about the priorities of your assignments, check with your manager.
Be safe!
I agree it will be interesting... Arizona is probably very hot and dry right now, so does this help? There are a lot of retirees, so does this hurt? Even Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale is extremely spread out so is it enough? I wonder what they are doing about schools as well.
There are plenty of voluntary social distancing and other policies in place in Arizona.
For example, my church voluntarily went to online services from in person services: we were having about 1,200 people attending in five services on each weekend.
When I went to the clinic this morning, social distancing was clearly being implemented.
When I went to the store the other day, social distancing was being observed.
Lots of cleaning of surfaces being done in public spaces.
Also, not so voluntary, the Mexican border flow is much reduced by federal order.
Interesting. The Post article posted at 3:41 pm and the piece about Arizona at 2:21 pm, both today. I wonder if it was an EST versus PST thing.
Dont we all? :^). Take care.
My first thought as well. It's probably best that Arizona lead with this thing.
We dont really have mass transit in Arizona, and we spend a lot of time in our air conditioned homes instead of hanging out on the corner like many urban places, so were not gonna end up like NYC.
A stay at home order was issued today.
The Dakotas, are two. I think also Arkansas and maybe Wyoming.
I don’t think even the Chinese Flu virus would mess with a guy with the moniker RatRipper. Cool name, that one!
