It’s a lot easier to be more than six feet away from other people in California.

An off-beat thought is that California Chinatowns are less related to Wuhan, where the virus sprung from.
California Chinatowns were formed from RR workers of a century ago. I believe they came from mostly coastal provinces of China.
Seems like a MAJOR factor:
Over 4.3 million people ride the subway system every day; over 1 billion people go through the turnstiles per year!
