Because we have trains and buses and subways...and all kinds of public transportation. California has cars, cars, cars.
Downtown SF is nothing but public transportation. Other CA cities not quite as much, but still a lot in Oakland and San Jose.
Speaking of which, I wonder if this will cause newsom to rethink the whole high speed rail boondoggle and stick with cars.
