Not so curious perhaps.

Two NYC specialist doctors I am checking up on twitter came down with a bad case of coronavirus at Maimonides Hospital. Both were started on hydroxychloroquin/azithryomycin, and unfortunately it didn’t work for them. Dr Jignish Patel was given Tocilizumab in iv form. Maybe his boss, Dr Jesse Greenberg was also given the same. Dr Patel improved a lot and has been discharged but Dr Greenberg deteriorated and was put on a vent. Co-workers were appealing for Gilead’s trial med Remdisivir for Dr Jesse but it’s in short supply. I don’t know what happened. I’m hoping they got the remdisivir for him. Maybe this is what happened to Dr Arnold Weg as well. Docs keep trying until they find a medicine that works.

The reason for Dr Weg seems to be that the trial was limited to 400 people

But what does a trial matter if a Dr is allowed to prescribe off label, compassionate use, etc......unless the real issue is supply and therefore it is being limited to trials.

But I get your point about Z-pak. they might have tried it and it isnt doing squat for him.

Seems like I am seeing the combo has to be started early to give it the best chance
