Pelosi and Schumer Block $1.6 Trillion Emergency Economic Bill – DOW Futures Collapse…
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | March 22, 2020 | Sundance

Posted on 03/22/2020 8:23:05 PM PDT by bobsunshine

Over the past three days a bipartisan group of senators, not leadership, constructed a $1.6 Trillion emergency aid package to rescue the U.S. economy and American workers. The package had the support of Mitch McConnell. However, at the last minute House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, having returned from her House recess vacation sipping cocktails poolside, instructed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to crush the senate effort. Secondly, Speaker Pelosi wants unilateral control over which companies will receive any financial assistance or loans to survive the crisis.

Power hungry Pelosi sees an opportunity to use the looming economic crisis as leverage for selecting winners & losers amid the K-Street lobbying community. Donors for Democrats will be rewarded; supporters of Republicans, not-so-much. This is DC at it’s worst and Pelosi isn’t going to lose another opportunity. It’s the same process she used in ’08/’09. ...

There are two main points Pelosi is targeting. First, because COVID-19 creates a MASSIVE SPENDING opportunity, Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to include the elimination of college debt, literally wipe out student loans – which ironically and intentionally were created under Obamacare, in the coronavirus bill.

... Secondly, Speaker Pelosi wants unilateral control over which companies will receive any financial assistance or loans to survive the crisis.

The point is, you can give 1K to people but if the companies they work for shrink dramatically they will not have an income. This “bailout” is supposedly so the companies can make payroll (it’s either they make payroll or they start cutting). It’s hard to blame companies when the government bans all of your customers from using and/or buying your products and services. They have been mandated to shut their company down. Not exactly something they could realistically plan for (unless Bernie were elected).

Literally no cost is too high to slow down Trump as far as they’re concerned.

I had a medical crisis and was "laid off" right after I came back. No one bailed me out. No one gave a crap. Am I supposed to give a shit about large companies run by greedy sociopaths?

Yes, I do care about their employees, but we can help them in other ways. I wouldn't trust most CEOs with a penny much less billions. More than likely they'd just bank the bailout money, pad their pay (using loopholes if needed) and still layoff most of their staff until things settle down.

Meh, That’s why you’re not the leader of the country. I’d also be ok just relaxing some rules so the banks could give them the loans (I assume there is a reason they can’t go to the banks). Interest rates are already 0 meaning they could easily just get money from the banks, not sure why no one is talking about it. Doing nothing, given the fact that they forced people to stay home, seems to be not a valid or fair option. I’m not all in on “bailouts” but I am not going to listen to media rhetoric. I’ll wait until I hear the details before freaking out.

Our leader proposed and requested exactly what I want them to do. The senate added in all the extra lobbyist induced pork.

Exactly. Pelosi is trying to get in on the big donor money just like the senate was trying to do. They are both playing the same game. Keep it simple and use the plan the admin requested at the beginning. If needed, we can revisit on bailouts with another bill and when we have a clearer picture.

Why is Pelosi still walking around loose, while Rand Paul is in quarantine?

I think the Mnuchin and Trump thing was a REAL rope-a-dope.. to expose Schumer and Nanzi the Nazi. McConnell tabled his vote to bring it for another cloture-— and another chance to BASH the idiot dems for their “counter” House bill that is a christmas tree of things HAVING NOTHING TO DO with coronavirus, or even helping the working people of America.
Just marvelous-— and Schumer is just having it dawn on him how much deep shite Pelosi (and she is also, because her own reps are testing positive, btw) has gotten him into.

Will not be able to spin allowing Americans to not get any help as most of the country is staying at home— as asked by a President who makes it clear he wants to prevent spread and death. The dems.... hell they want more deaths (see: Planned Parenthood, ignoring Ohio’s ban on elective surgery to continue to provide... abortions!).

Trump market targeting every dem representative, every one on the basis of Pelosi’s fool bill. Beautiful self induced suicide by proxy. Brilliant play. No chance in hell that the private financials will allow a complete writeoff of student loans-— no way.

The democrats are just doing their assigned task of assisting in the destruction of the american infrastructure. Hopefully we will be able to charge them with sedition once we get this stabilized and line them up against a wall.
