Is Republican Gov. Charlie Baker going to become a Democrat?
The offer to abandon the Republican Party and become a Democrat came after Baker was handed his head last week on Super Tuesday when he lost all control of the Republican State Committee.
The 80- member committee, headed by conservative former Rep. Edward Lyons, is now firmly in the hands of pro Donald Trump conservatives by a 60 to 20 margin.

In Massachusetts?.......yeah...........not that there’s any big difference................
This definitively rips the mask off yet another RINO.
Another sheep in wolf’s clothing.
Republican Governors of MA ARE Democrats, see Mitt Romney.
Wait, the Trump supporting Republicans took over Massachusetts. Another win, since we are driving out RINOs.
Some good news out of Massachusetts. Left-wingers in control of the state GOP for decades have all but killed it as an opposition party (where once it was the majority for a century until the 1950s). Pro-Trump Conservatives taking it back is a positive development.
I knew they could do it eventually
Ive thought for a while that Trumps ascension ought to be good for Republicans in Massachusetts. Arent there a lot of blue collar Democrats in that state that Trump’s style would appeal to? Ive been a little surprised that the state didnt move towards us back in 2016 the way Rhode Island and Connecticut had.
Trump should and does have appeal to those blue-collar folks that Reagan did. Unfortunately, in MA, the state GOP has been held in a deathgrip by left-wingers who don’t want anyone other than Demonrats (either actual or de facto) in office. Anything center-right must be destroyed.
Baker is execrable, and follows in the footsteps of the left-wing failures that have preceded him as Governor. Indeed, there hasn’t been a remotely good Governor since then-Conservative Democrat Ed King (1979-83), who was on excellent terms with President Reagan. A good Governor would do everything he/she could to be on good terms with the President of their party and use it to get more like-minded individuals into office. Baker clearly prefers someone like Hillary or Zero, which would be unimaginable now with our present crisis (of which neither would be capable to deal with).
You can disagree with them, but when you have a Governor actively working against the President of your own party, whose approvals with the base are sky-high, you’re doing nothing more than aiding the opposition. That 90% of the MA GOP voters showed they supported President Trump over leftist Clintoonista puppets like Slick Willie Weld should be a warning sign to Baker he either needs to get with the program, or go run in the opposite party and make it official (the Dems won’t have much use for him, they already have a limitless bench of slack-jawed, drooling Stalinist idjits waiting for an office).
I figured growing minority population is the reason it didn’t? That plus a relatively high number of country club Republicans?
Blue collar Bristol County and the Berkshires swung to Trump, the rest of the state swung away.
Anyway, this is great news that conservatives now control the state party. Need to focus on local offices and state leg.
I’d certainly take Hogan in MD over a rat Governor but Baker, that the rats are willing to take him says it all. Actually, them hardly opposing his reelection said it all.
Parts of Worcester County are Red also. Same with Essex County. The problem is Middlesex and Suffolk counties; thats Boston and the surrounding burbs, aka, population centers.
If Baker officially switched (like Bill Kristol), would it really matter? Nope.
Ed King was THE ONLY Democrat that was liked in our home.
