I sold my Gilead today. Barely made anything. But when it drops 20% tommorow, I may pick it up again at a better price than I had it for.
I didnt have quinine, so I got equine. Gotta feed him hay twice a day now.

Sounds promising. When it comes to "cutting edge" medicine schools like Hopkins (and a few others) are the ones to trust.I,for one, don't trust a single word about the virus (or anything else) uttered by the Chinese...for obvious reasons.

The big one for chloroquine is widening of the heart’s QT interval(worse than Z-Pak and some other antibiotics) so you get pushed into V-Tach and/or heart attack. Combine that with Covid19 sometimes inflammation of the heart muscle(myocarditis) and....well, yeah. STRICT supervision required to try to go that route.

Yup, sounds like it could be risky for those with existing cardio-vascular conditions.
Your point on Kaletra (lopinavir/ritonavir)is well taken. Used alone or in combination with chloroquine or tamiflu, there have been 3 reports from Asia (Thailand, S. Korea, and recently from Singapore in the NEJM) that Kaletra has efficacy vs. the Wuhan virus. Additionally, the extensive clinical experience and the FDA licensing of Kaletra suggests that it has acceptable levels of toxicity. So it is puzzling that the Feds (Dr. Fauci et al) are focused on developing remdesivir (a Gilead compound, which has not yet been approved by the FDA and therefore not fully tested for toxicity)for the Wuhan virus. Gilead, of course, was well known a few years back for charging about $80,000 for enough of their anti-viral for Hepatitis C infections to treat ONE patient....
The one clue to explain this may be that the Abbvie (Kaletra’s manufacturer) website indicates that they do not anticipate any interruption in the supply of Kaletra for their customer base—i.e., the HIV patient community, (I suspect due to contractual obligations). So this suggests to me that there may not be a lot of additional Kaletra available in the US to treat Wuhan virus patients.
In the current environment, most of the chemical powders needed to make the pills sold in US pharmacies are produced in southern China. These chemical powders can be made into pills in China, or shipped elsewhere in the world for processing. It would not surprise me if any extra capacity the primary producers in China have to make the agents used in Kaletra is now being sold on the open market, to the highest bidder, by those manufacturers. As such, we should not expect the ramped-up supplies all to make it to the US market. In fact, it would be surprising if they did.
Thus, I think the Feds may be looking to Gilead to fill the gap with their experimental compound to treat the Wuhan virus victims. The good news is that it has been reported to work, at least on a few patients. And in a pinch, treating clinicians might give Wuhan patients “off label” cloroquine or hydroxychloroquine, as it has been suggested to work by reports from China...

Our best bet is to develop a vaccine against the novel coronavirus and thats not likely to happen this year, according to my MILs doctor friend.
Best bet long-term but if something else helps now you do it now.
We’ll have to fight this thing on multiple fronts.
Well have to fight this thing on multiple fronts.
Absolutely.

Yeah, but at least I didn’t see uncontrolled oily anal discharge listed as one of the side effects.
