I wonder if the number of death is according to the health care system. Could be average age of population, health, smoking.

China Infected: 78064 Death 2715 percentage 3.5%
S Korea Infected: 1261 Death 12 percentage 1%
Italy Infected: 374 Death 12 percentage 3.2%

Looks like South Korea has a good health care system

Good question.

IMHO the lower mortality in SK is due to a large number of ‘recent’ and ‘asymptomatic’ positives from their extensive testing.

Ie, their cases are likely to be ‘new’ cases that haven’t needed ICU beds.

I’m interested in the numbers from SK in 3 or 4 weeks when those recently infected will have ‘resolved’ one way or another.

Now run the number with the people who have finished the full course of the disease, the recovered plus the dead. Not just dividing the dead by everyone who is still sick and assuming the sick are all going to be survivors.

Yes, the textbook formula for a historical disease mortality is dead over infected, but I assure you everyone who had the Spanish Flu in 1918 has finished the entire course of the disease!
