I don’t get this.
Hell, if they did this in San Francisco, they would have been given the key to the city.
What starts in San Francisco seems to become the nation-wide and world-wide norm 10-20 years later.
It’s seen as the ultimate way of saying:
“I don’t give a f**k” to folks who already don’t want you around, plus, very few people are jailed or even arrested for doing it.
