Nothing like good ol Democrat hypocrisy. Then they wouldnt be Democrats.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of being contemptuous of the American people Tuesday... the John Bolton announcement was a bust for Chuck Schumer... Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski didnt take the bait... Mitt Romney drove a stake through it... said hes comfortable with the Clinton approach,
We can give them 25 days and then move to dismiss.
Now its up to House Democrats. Time to put up or to punt.
Pass Senator Josh Hawley’s proposed changes to Senate rules. That will put the kibosh on Democrats in the House.
Opening arguments? For what? To pontificate before the cameras? BS! Americans are pissed enough already!
What a colossal waste of time!
I think Nancy just dropped her broom as she wailed “I’m melting..”
I have tried repeatedly, using different keywords, and terms to find the breakdown of who voted for and against adopting the Clinton impeachment trial rules, and nothing appears. It would be interesting to see who voted for them. I know Schumer did, but that's the only name that has been mentioned in relation to that 1999 vote.
Lets see the Democrats make their case. They seem in no great hurry to appoint their managers.
Don't they have to vote for the trial rules before they can dismiss the Articles? I'd say that would be standard protocol.
I wouldn't even give them that long. They've already deliberately dragged this thing out far longer than necessary.
They need to put the rules in place first and start the clock ticking.
After 25 days, if Hawleys rule change is adopted, any senator can file a motion to dismiss with prejudice for failure to prosecute.
The onus is now on the House.
I have a strong feeling that Collins and Murkowski and Romney HEARD FROM THE VOTERS OF THEIR RESPECTIVE STATES.
This feeling of wanting to get this “thing” done is bipartisan and Americans want this to go the way of the car phone.
I cant figure out why Manchin hasnt switched parties yet. Stay tuned. May still happen.
No reason Manchin has to make that move before November. After Trump’s reelection and the Democrat destruction, he can switch shortly thereafter.
As I recall, the rules of the trial procedure of the Clinton impeachment were passed by a unanimous 100-0 vote back in 1999. Both parties wanted to get it over with at the time and came up with a truncated trial procedure. The Senate RATS will look like real asses if they try to claim the SAME rules they passed back then are "unfair" now, especially since numerous RAT Senators who voted for that motion are still in the Senate today (Durbin, Schumer, Feinstein, Leahy, etc.)
I believe the Clinton impeachment trial rules were adopted unanimously.
So there's gonna be a limit on how long and far they can fish! Something they haven't had for 3+ years now.
huh??? trial and acquittal
Which means Democrats are playing partisan politics. They cant explain why Trump should be treated differently from Clinton.
They voted for the rule in 1999.
Thanks for that info.
Romney’s popping his head up trying real hard to be significant.
