Yo, Rand Paul, listen to the opening monologue of the Mark Kevin show from Jan. 3, 2020. Guest host Brian Mudd reads an excerpt from a speech Bill Clinton gave congratulating himself for NOT killing Osama bin Laden when he had the chance.

Care to take a stab at when he said that? Spoiler Alert! It was on Sept. 10, 2001.

Do you remember what happened the next day?

He says that like it was ever alive to begin with...

But, folks should fear not... The SJWs are already racing to the rescue and, doing what they do best, which is to blame it all on t3h j00000z that are (apparently) holding The Donald’s leash.

/yes, sarc.

The first prerequisite for diplomacy is they know you mean business. Establish that, and diplomacy can proceed.

“death of diplomacy”

Depends on how you define diplomacy. With Obama it means Americans embrace servitude. The Iranians may have to adjust to President Trump who is willing to use American power.

Obama never once used American power to enforce its will.

The Iranians dropped a drone out of the sky and attacked the U.S. Embassy. The bad act is done.

Move on to retaliation.

In re: post #48, Mark Kevin should be Mark Levin. Thanks for nothing auto-correct.

If you don't want perpetual war, you don't keep sending more targets over there."

What a disgusting remark from a devout coward.

When the religion of a theocratic society recommends that the leaders lie and dupe their opposites whenever force will not give them sufficient leverage to conquer them, you have a societal collision, not a diplomatic problem.

Deception, Lying
and Taqiyya
Does Islam permit Muslims to lie?

Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should generally be truthful to each other, unless the purpose of lying is to “smooth over differences” or “gain the upper-hand over an enemy”

There are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, the best known being taqiyya (the Shia name). These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam - in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

Rand Paul is Ron Paul 2.0 (to coin a Don Feder phrase). Maybe he’ll go on Iranian Press tv to apologize for the airstrike. I wouldn’t be surprised if his congressman father did.

A bit late to the party, Rand.

Addendum to post #48: Bin Laden had already bombed the World Trade Center when Clinton declined the authorization to take him out.

Nutz. For one thing, Iran doesn’t have the capacity, nobody even in the ME likes Iran, and its allies (China and Russia) are quietly abandoning it because they realize that they have a tiger by the tail, since both of these countries have problems with Islamists, probably mostly funded by Iran. So we’re taking care of a problem for them, although they may put on a pro-forma protest face.

The problem with Rand Paul is that he doesn’t realize that there is simply no possibility of isolationism anymore. Like it or not, since the advent of the IPhone, only 10 years ago, it’s a whole different universe and no state can ever be isolated anymore.

I am so tired of these lame people. Diplomacy ended when they attacked the embassy. Had Obama/Hillary done the same during the Benghazi affair, I suspect this event might not have happened.

Iran has been desperately pushing for conflict since Trump's sanctions really began to bite. Social unrest has been a large problem in the sanctions based collapse of their currency and economy. They have attacked shipping, oil infrastructure, US unmanned aircraft, US bases in Iraq and most recently the US Embassy in Baghdad, all while exporting terrorism in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and around the globe. Trump has held firm in using diplomacy, in the form of international sanctions through the UN, rather than respond with kinetic force. Only one side was using diplomacy, and it was not Iran. It wasn't until Iran killed attacked an American base, causing US casualties, then attacked a US Embassy, that Trump finally responded with military action. I am sure Trump will continue to do his best to avoid war, but the ball is in Iran's court. If they attack the United States, directly, or via their proxies, we will likely be forced to take whatever action is required to protect our forces. But for Rand to say THIS is the death of diplomacy is dead wrong. Diplomacy, particularly the sanctions, will continue to be Trump's primary strategy unless Iran escalates.

Iraq remains a military and political disaster, and Iran wanted to take advantage of the current instability to push us out. I think they miscalculated. If they were smart, they would sit back and wait, as time is on their side. On the other hand, the sanctions continue to destroy their economy and cause unrest in Iran, so the failed embassy attack was likely a calculated risk to undermine Trump's reelection and get rid of the sanctions. The successful defense of the US Embassy, and the brilliant counter attack against the very man who planned that attack (and likely the Benghazi attack), has only increased Trump's chances.
