The last Washington Post reporter I talked with told me that it is more important to tell the larger truths (in that particular case the truth that guns are bad) than to get the facts of an individual story correct (and she admitted that her facts were wrong). She is one of their top journalists, so I completely dismiss their reporting.

This trope is endemic in the Modern Left. It is why we read about Christine Blasey Ford "speaking her truth."

If indeed Truth is not based on facts, then "Truth" is whatever The Narrative Shapers say it is.

By way of example, a basic understanding of human biology reveals that only females menstruate. But, once the Jack-booted Forces of Tolerance get involved, we have to put tampons in men's rooms because of "a greater truth."

Somehow, the Elites still don't understand that this contributes to President Trump's electoral strength.
