Special Dispatch No. 8451 | December 31, 2019

Tensions continue to flare in Iraq between the U.S. and Iran-supported Iraqi Shi'ite militias following the December 28 U.S. aerial attacks on five Hizbullah Brigades positions in Iraq and Syria (see MEMRI Special Dispatch No. 8447 Reactions In Iraq To The Recent Violent Conflagration Hizbullah Brigades: 'Trump Will Pay A Heavy Price In Iraq And In The Other Countries Where His Criminal Forces Are Found'; U.S. Bases Will Be Crushed, December 30, 2019).

On Tuesday, supporters of the Iraqi Al-Hashd Al-Sha'bi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) stormed the International Green Zone, the home of several diplomatic corps, scaling the walls of the U.S. Embassy and breaking into the compound in protest of the U.S. airstrikes, which came in response to the December 27 rocket attack on the K1 military base near Kirkuk in northern Iraq, which houses U.S. and coalition forces.
Among today's demonstrators were five militia leaders: Falih Fahad Al-Fayyad, a government appointee and head of the PMU; Hadi Al-Amiri, head of Badr Organization; Qais Al-Khazali, head of 'Asaeb Ahl Al-Haq; Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, head of Hizbullah Brigades; and Rayan Al-Kaldani, head of Babelyoon Brigade.

Militia Leader Echoes 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis
Commenting on the storming of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Abu Alaa Al-Walai, leader of Kata'ib Sayyid Al-Shuhada, which is another PMU group, tweeted in praise of the attack saying that "the popular mobilization forces, more accurately the mobilized people, surrounded today the embassy of evil in Baghdad and will soon surround the camps and headquarters of the U.S. killers that are spread all over the Iraqi lands."
He went on to say, that the demonstrators will go further to surround "the embassies of its [the U.S.] tails and submissive countries," naming Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain.
Al-Walai concludes by linking today's events to the siege of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran that took place 40 years ago. " The siege of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran back in 1979 extends to today's siege of the embassy in Baghdad, 2019. It summarizes the history: Allah will bring victory to those who support Him." In his tweet, Al-Walai also used a hashtag that reads "#America_out", a play on the "#Iran-out" hashtag used by anti-Iran protesters in Iraq.

Rayan Al-Kaldani, a militia leader sanctioned by the U.S., extended his support to those who stormed the U.S. Embassy with a tweet that shows photos of him attending the demonstration in the Green Zone. "How I like to stand here, there is no confusion in the [political] compass. Here [at the embassy] lies the anger toward the source of the troubles and terrorism, [anger] at an enemy plundering my country and its heritage, killing its old and young people. Here, the Iraqi throats unite and cry out for all the pain that tormented us and all the blood we shed: Long live Iraq and death for the enemies of Iraq and for the reckless Trump policy."
The Tehran Embassy unrest now is a blend between the Benghazi set-up and Tehran ‘79:
Desperate libs foreseeing a 2020 Trump victory are desperate after all their scams to trip him up failed.
They see Trump as confronted with 2 choices in Tehran:
1. Attack - “With our media we’ll cast Trump as being mired in an Iran QUAGMIRE..!”
2. Don’t attack -”Our media buddies will cast Trump as WEAK, as with Jimmy Carter in 1979, who went on to LOSE re-election”
Libs see the Tehran imbroglio was a “win or sorta win”.
This has SET UP written all over it.
we need to invent a net, blown from within the compound, that will net all these suckers where they stand until our Marines can untangle them - about 6 days later.
Sure does.
This has SET UP written all over it.

Yep, Iran is testing Trump. But its also an opportunity for him to demonstrate resolve and leadership, which may well require some form of a strong ‘kinetic’ response. In the middle east, the only thing that is respected is strength. This attack is leaving Trump with no other choice.
The only strategy that the US should employ in Iraq, Iran and Syria is carpet bombing. Meaning, when they pull a 911 on us again send every B52, B1, Strike Eagle and Thomahawk we have and obliterate the fn country like Roosevelt and Truman authorized on Germany and Japan in WWII.
In the interim, just let the bastards fight and kill each other as they have done for 16 centuries or thereabouts. Indeed, do everything possible to encourage more fighting as a form of population control. Parachuting the $3.00 pistols into Iran would be a good starter. We did it in WWII for the French, why not now. Sending our kids over there to fight these scum is the most stupid thing the US ever does. It even beats Vietnam. F the Generals and Globalists who disagree!
Sounds like a target rich environment.
PDJT (we) need these "leaders" to disappear. It does not have to have USAs name on it, just make them go away.
Advise all legitimate Iraqi Army and police personnel to clear the areas around the embassy and then his the streets with napalm. Bring in a few flame thrower tanks for closely directed applications.
In addition, drop a no-warhead ICBM into the middle of Tehran, in the middle of the night.
Send a message
I wonder how many cruise missiles it would take to level the Iranian embassy?
Target Nazrullah in Lebanon
The Iranians must understand that this isn’t jimmie carter they’re dealing with.
Agree. The ME types only respect one thing - brutal, unforgiving, obscene force.
Uh, it cant be Benghazi considering NO ONE DIED..Benghazi four Americans died..today, ZERO deaths..so how is this compared to Benghazi makes zero sense
You touch on the one crucial thing that GW Bush never did in response to 9/11: He never destroyed the enemys will to fight. We focused only on degrading their ABILITY to fight, but never tried to eliminate their WILL. Critics of this strategy will say, They are fanatics who can never be deterred, but these Islamists are no more fanatical than were the subjects of the Japanese emperor, and as Ann Coulter has said, Two well-placed nuclear weapons and they became as gentle as little lambs (paraphrase).
If we dont want to be fighting this war against Islam for many generations to come, we must destroy their will to fight. The next time these animals even think of attacking an American anywhere on the planet, our response should be so swift and so devastating that it will shock them into never wanting to tangle with America again. When attacked, our response should be total war, WWII-style with modern weapons, and we should not relent until the Islamic world begs for peace.
Had I been in charge after 9/11, I would have immediately contacted the leader of every Islamic nation known to harbor violent Islamist groups and let them know that they had one week to round up every terrorist in their midst and hand them over to us, or else we would hold those leaders and their countries responsible and would retaliate against them. All of those leaders know who the terrorists are in their countries, so why should we have to go over there and root them out? Just threaten the continued existence of the nations that harbor them.
We should invade Iran, kill their leaders, and turn the nation back over to the Christians. They were once a very prosperous and world leading nation. The country is gorgeous with beaches and ski resorts. They even had some of the best universities.
Let’s give it all back to them.
(overheard in muzzie) ... “This guy ain’t no halfrican homo ... we’re screwed”
Nonsense.
Love Trump’s “anti-Benghazi” tweet.
The Embassy is fine, this is just another staged ME “protest”. Just more obvious than most.
Doesn’t look that serious to me.
Iran could have these same folk attacking us now. Instead, Iran has them putting on a PR show.
Doesnt look that serious to me.

Consider that our adversaries/enemies around the world are watching this closely, looking for signs of weakness. We are being measured all the time. This attack on a U.S.embassy compond IS serious — in that it could lead others to miscalculate our willingness and resolve to defend ourselves.
You can be sure that the Pentatgon and State Department are very concerned at this hour.
