Yep. A buddy had a dirt bike and he borrowed another one from a friend in S. Cal. At least the post had a pretty good pool too.
I got into a tiff with the Co Commander. He was miffed at me because he was competing in how much his men could buy U.S. bonds every month. My parents got my extra money and I did not buy the bonds. He made it a public issue with me, in front of the company a number of times. (In my head I would say “Frankly Scarlet I really don’t give a damn”).
I think his buddies in personal wangled my reassignment out of YPG,....... to Europe. Once there I did my own maneuvering and got into NATO (SHAPE) HQ. Quite a change from YPG.
I had a sand paddle on my YZ 400.
Had lots of fun in Glamis and on the Colorado river.
Had fun in Europe too, but love the desert.
