That's more truth than fiction. We were on food stamps briefly when a crooked former employer fired me to steal my accumulated vacation and contested my unemployment compensation filing so I would have no income.
We never ate better than during that brief period. By the time I got my hearing and all my back unemployment compensation reinstated, I had a better paying job as well.

Now they (SNAP folks) just order online....no more cart shaming!!
I saw a decal on the Walmart dairy case door reminding these SNAPers that they could now easily order their goodies online.
Online, with their 0bammy phones and internet paid for by you and I.

It isn’t rocket science to slice a potato and fry it up. A 14.75 oz bag of Lay’s chips is $3.98 plus tax at Walmart.com. A 10 lb bag of russet potatoes is $3.15 non taxable at the grocery store. That comes to 11 homemade bags or a savings of around $40. Chips and junk food shouldn’t be allowed on EBTs.
