I wouldn’t mind them being able to get fresh, canned, or frozen vegetables and fruits. The question is would they even eat them? And if your kid is being served 3 meals a day and sent home with a backpack of food for the weekend, what are you using those food stamps for?

I say it should be like it was when it first started.....
Grocery items that you MAKE other preferred foods with (eggs, flour, milk) and cheese and bread for sammiches.
That way....they’ll actually appreciate the free stuff.
Also...time limits. I’m fine with a hand up, but sick and tired of these generational HAND OUTS.
Is that bad?
Our lobby served the welfare office as well. They’d come in bragging about what bar they partied at the night before and all decked out with their fake nails, weaves and bling and driving nice vehicles but whining about not being able to feed their countless kids. The welfare office secretary got fed up and quit after realizing she was making less working 40 hrs/wk than they were sitting on their backsides.
That’s been a racket forever. They also lend their card to someone to buy whatever and charge that person half the price so they can use that money for booze and pay off their drug dealer. It’s a win-win for everyone but the working taxpayer.
Maybe most of these people should get a job. I know...that’s degrading.
Cue the stories about millions dropping dead in the streets of hunger while Trump is president.
What would they say about me? I’d like to see Fed.gov go bankrupt entirely.

“Food stamps” are like “parole”. They should be abolished!
An awesome attempt to keep multitudes of people in the new slave ‘chains’ which ultimately created the worst scam ever -— welfare and social services = food stamps. WTG libtards and progressives!!! /s
Abolish Food Stamps completely and setup Soup Kitchens everywhere they are needed, staffed by the recipients of the soup of course, hand out Trash bags, you bring it back full you can eat.
While it’s a good thing to force them to work if they’re getting freebies the devil’s in the details. These proposals always exempt women with children from the work requirements and that where about 95% of the fraud is. Politicians of both parties are terrified of the MSM who will run with the “they’re trying to starve children” story so they won’t go after the biggest source of waste which is the welfare mother that keeps spitting out kids for the increased money.
