Top Navy SEAL sends Eddie Gallagher's case to review board
MSN News ^ | 11/19/19 | David Martin

In what will undoubtedly be interpreted by many as an act of defiance against President Trump, the top Navy SEAL, Rear Admiral Collin Green, will notify Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher and three other officers that their case is being sent to a review board which could end in their expulsion from the SEALS.

"This is a review of their suitability to be a SEAL," a Navy Officer said. The action would come less than a week after Mr. Trump intervened in the military justice case against Gallagher by ordering him restored to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, despite his conviction for posing for a photograph with a dead ISIS prisoner.

I read this as a review of his suitability to be reinstated as an active duty SEAL, not a review of the president’s reinstatement as a CPO.

Just my $.02.

Wasn’t there a disciplinary problem with the SEALs that surfaced not long ago? There were also some uncharacteristic incidents with drug use indicating a breakdown in morale and discipline during the Obama admin. Would this guy be responsible for that?

His rank was restored but that doesn’t mean he gets to keep his duty assignment. The SEALS might’ve decided they don’t want him back for reasons we aren’t going to know about.

“POTUS provably does not have the support of his own party and that hamstrings him greatly. “

Dumbest conclusion ever. Take a civics class, pal. The vast majority of what needs to be done doesn’t need his party in congress or anywhere else to get done.

Wasn’t there a disciplinary problem with the SEALs that surfaced not long ago? There were also some uncharacteristic incidents with drug use indicating a breakdown in morale and discipline during the Obama admin. Would this guy be partly responsible for that breakdown? Or is he rooting that stuff out?

But I’m the one who trusts Donald Trump.

You’re the one who doesn’t trust him.

That is what happened in early WWII.

An ‘unwritten law’ basically said if I were Senior to you and we were both Line Officers you - for the most part - would not be allowed to ‘advance’ above me.

So when a ‘slug’ was a CO of a ship, it was more expeditious to just put him on a staff, which in essence kept him Senior to his replacement.(EGO!!!)

The real ‘monkey’ wrench came in when the Non Acadamy Officers were given command...
That was a problem early on where ‘former’ Masters of Commercial Ships were way down the pecking order from the Regular Navy types...

Seniority considered basically EVERYTHING from USNA...year graduated, class ranking etc etc

:”POTUS provably does not have the support of his own party and that hamstrings him greatly.”

So, your claim is that we wasted our time electing Trump when we knew he wouldn’t have the support of the republican party. That’s not why I voted for him. I voted for him to lead despite not having the republican support, to use the power of the presidency to drain the swamp, to nominate a bulldog AG and prosecute these criminals. So much for his statement to Hitlery of, “And you’d be in jail”. All hot air.

'Eddie Gallaghers mistake was posing with a terrorist corpse'

US Marines... Hold my beer!

Takes a picture of them pissing on the corpse's of the terrorists who attacked their squad and killed some of their comrades.

And this trifecta of POS squids need a lesson in military chain of command.

and on the meaning of "expunged".

Admiral Green’s been mentioned here before... back in August. What is peculiar is this is the sort of stuff we really don’t need to air in public, loose lips sink ships and all...yet Green’s already had two ‘leaks.’ Sounds like there’s not just a disciplinary problem but a leak problem too. If Green isn’t leaking this himself then whoever is is also a problem child.

Top US Navy SEAL tells commanders in light of misconduct: ‘We have a problem’

CNN ^ | Aug 01, 2019 | Barbara Starr

The top US Navy SEAL recently sent a blistering letter to the force, writing in boldface type, “We have a problem,” following several high profile incidents of alleged misbehavior by the US Navy’s elite service members, CNN has learned. Rear Adm. Collin Green has given commanders until August 7 to detail the problems they see and provide recommendations on how they will ensure troops are engaging in ethical and professional behavior. The letter — dated July 25 and exclusively obtained by CNN — comes in the wake of several high profile incidents of alleged misbehavior by SEALs. “I don’t know...
