You're not the only one. I have heard Neil tell the story that one day his father (Scott Young, a revered sportswriter in Canada) called him and said he really liked his new song about the horse. Neil had to tell him that it was a new band America rather than him. Neil has always thought they intentionally copied his style.
I am a huge fan of Neil's best stuff. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since he did anything decent. In fact, much of his output the last couple of decades has been embarrassingly bad. I have also come to the conclusion after following his career closely and reading much about him that he is a world-class as*hole.
