Even in the Vietnam War, much closer to the present and when the second feminist movement was already underway, the total deaths were almost entirely men: over 58,000 men and I think 8 women (all or mostly nurses) died in that conflict.

The percentages may have changed a little in the more recent conflict but not enough to warrant replacing Lincoln's words with whatever Mayor Pete wants to put there. No disrespect to the women who have given their lives for their country but we also need to honor our past.
