With all due respect...

Any home with gas risks explosion; stoves not withstanding. But electric stoves have their share of mishaps as well, e.g. the stove remain hot long after the heat is turned off - lots of burn victims. True independence would be propane with a wood-burning stove backup.

In the case of the State of Utopia (a.k.a. California), forcing everyone to and electric stove only allows the state (a.k.a. PG&E) even more control inside the home (just wait and see what they can do with those NEST thermostats). I’m surprised the remaining citizens in that state are not in armed revolt by now.

Agreed - nothing is riskless and we all have different utility curves. I don't care if my neighbor uses wood, gas, biodiesel, or reflector ovens as long as it doesn't impinge on my life, liberty and property.

I object to being told I MUST use an electric oven (even if I prefer it) because of the alleged threat to the ozone layer, the darter snail, or Greta Van Fleet or whatever that poor child's name is. I simply want the government out of my kitchen.
