If that is true, and I do not doubt you ....... I think that is foolish thinking by the manager.
If Cole were to have entered the game in the 7th inning, there IS NO IMPERATIVE that he pitch the 8th and 9th (However, I'm sure he could of with no harm to his arm).
Houston's manager seems like a real good guy, but here I think his reasoning was not quite right.
I agree in congratulating the Washington Nationals. I would have congratulated them if they still resided in Canada, too. But they should move to America.
LOL!
____________
LOL .....not since Arthur's Victory Over Saxons - the good ole boy won a battle against the Saxons at Mound Badon slowing the Saxon conquest of England.
The World Series began soon thereafter.
If they had lost, the democrats would have demanded another game be played......
____________
To me, Anthony Rendon is one of the purest/best hitters I've seen in about 70 years of observing baseball.
I played on the same field as Clemente, Stargell, Musial, Mays, Frank Robinson, etc., etc. ...... and to me Anthony Rendon is right with them. (One hell of a fielder too.)
Good luck to the Astros and the Nationals in the future. They should be good for a long time.
(Now if the Pirates could hire a few great scouts......... lol.)
__________
..... remain confused.
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt."
_______
LOL ...I would bet that in TODAY'S baseball NO pitcher has had 100 official at bats this season.
Hmmmm ..... Madison Bumgarner (for instance) Look him up. I just did.
The last 8 years even he isn't close to 100 at bats a year.
_______________
Pretty true.
Those ..... and stealing signs and spitting.
;-)
That’s it TRUMP IS DOOMED!!
Scherzer is a hoss, he’s a MU alum. The Astros lost the game, there was no reason in hell to not put Gerrit Cole in to finish the game, he doesn’t have to pitch again till spring.
You’ve got one of the best pitchers in MLB, use him!
When the DBacks had Randy Johnson, they used him after he pitched the night before. Look at the difference in how that turned out. I called the Randy Johnson relief that night, someone asked what I would do, I said do you think Randy Johnson would say NO?
_____
So true. He is a very cerebral pitcher.
That's great, now I can plan to avoid going into DC like I do every weekend.

Remember John Riggins' famous White House visit?
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/07/john-riggins-sandra-day-oconnor-loosen-up
(snip) --- On Jan. 30, 1985, Riggins was set to attend the Washington Press Clubs annual black-tie event, Salute to Congress, at the Washington Sheraton. He was a guest of People magazine.
I had been with a good friend, had a few beers, didnt bother to eat, went down to the hotel where the party was, walked in and, God I dont know why, because I hardly ever drink it, I had a double scotch. And I had another. John Riggins
Five-and-oh in elimination games is impressive. Historic even. And just like last night they won most of those games in the late innings.
It don't run in their blood
I was at that game. It was incredible!
There is ONLY ONE Swamp!!!! And it's in Gainesville.
And Zimmerman who has been with the team since forever.
I wonder what Bryce Harper was doing last night. ;)
Dont care about em, dont like their fans, no celebration here, sorry.
Remember the smugness with which you once looked down upon Republicans and Conservatives?
You're doing it again.
