Rush said this week that the Senate has rules involving impeachment that could have a major impact on the 2020 race and supports his theory that impeachment will never reach the House floor for a vote and never reach the Senate.

He said if the House votes to impeach and the motion then goes to the Senate, that the Senate must then drop all other business and spend six days a week trying the case before the Senate.

In addition, Senators of both parties are prohibited from campaigning while the impeachment trial is underway. This impacts many of the Democrat front-runners: Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Amy Klobochar...

The closer this gets to the holidays, the closer this also gets to the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire primary.

The longer a trial goes on, the more it takes those senators out of action in Iowa, New Hampshire and elsewhere providing a huge boost to Joe Biden's chances (and a push from behind for Mare Pete).

If anyone can direct me to a link verifying these Senate rules or where these rules are discussed, it would be greatly appreciated.

Rules haven’t seemed to made much difference so far.

Well, Hell’s bells, yet another reason to minimize the number of votes to fill the numerous judicial vacancies with Trump’s nominees.

Correct.

He send that during a senate trial, the senators function as jurors, and during such time they are not allowed to campaign at all.

Not sure about the rules, but I’d guess that the Ds expect the Senate to knock down the phony charges and then they can run against the Republican party & Trump.

An impeachment trial of President Donald Trump could keep Democratic presidential candidates who are also senators off the campaign trail for weeks.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet, California Sen. Kamala Harris, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren would be required to stay in Washington, D.C., during an impeachment trial, according to BuzzFeed News.

Senate rules require senators to be present in session Monday through Saturday beginning at noon every day for an impeachment trial, BuzzFeed reported. Former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial took several weeks.

Bennet said he is unsure whether he could continue campaigning if an impeachment trial takes place, he told BuzzFeed.

Compared to the Gestapo-like star chamber the House is “conducting” to spoon-feed outrageously doctored, Deep Faked testimony to an eager, compliant, orgasmic mainstream media, senators leaving the chamber to ape their AOC-fed lines to their potential voters is like, at worst, jaywalking on a rural dirt road in the country.

Something ambiguously frightening about that statement....

You can still read the transcript on Rush’s website. You don’t have to be a subscriber.

Yup,I heard it too. My thinking is that even if there are such rules in place I can't imagine who'd be able...or willing...to enforce them.

Specifically,I can't see the Federal courts...including SCOTUS...wanting to get involved in what could be seen as a political, rather than "legal",scuffle.

What Rush said was BS.

There are senate rules on impeachment, none of them have the effects claimed.

Clinton impeachment was a part-time affair, a few days on, a couple weeks off, a few days on. The senate can handle this however it sees fit.

As if demoncrats are going to abide by any rules.

Yes he said that.

Those may be the rules. Do you think one DemoKKKrat out there campaigning would stop?

However, the resolution from the Senate yesterday was VERY important: it showed Yertle has 50 votes RIGHT NOW for dismissal if the House even votes impeachment, which is why, as Rush correctly said, it will never happen.

"Impeachment" is nothing more than the latest squawk of their 3-year-long tantrum. It's all they have. And it's nothing. These yahoos are nothing but a bunch of howling hyenas disgracing themselves and having no effect other than self-revelation.

Trump's going to be re-elected by a landslide. Their self-revelation assured it.

He's also going to cast the LIGHT OF TRUTH on them. That's why they're so panic-stricken.
